You know, for people who treat Reagan like some kind of Jesus 2.0, modern Republicans seem awfully intent on seeing how fast they can make his corpse spin in his grave. A resurgent Russia lead by a Stalinist ex-KGB agent, and they're *not* fighting over who gets to spend the Ruskies back into a smoking crater...? Even to their idols, all is lip-service and nothing more.

I'm glad you like it. Btw this is why he's loosing to a reality TV star with 7 indictment. The man puts more restrictions on student loan relief than arms sales.

But when Ukraine is a bombed out wasteland with 1/3rd the population it had a year ago I'm sure that will... Show Russia? Somehow?

Now, how many down votes can I get? 🤔

the republicans have gone to shit.

Imagine what's going to happen to Ukraine if trump gets to power

US withdraws all aid. US withdraws from NATO. Russia spends six-to-twelve months rearming for a larger scale invasion towards Kyiv. Russia is successful this time, deposes Zelensky and installs puppet government. Will annex at least half the country within a few years(I think they still give Ukraine some land as 'cushion' ala Belarus, though still under Russian puppet leadership). NATO falls apart, and Russia soon sets sights on Baltics.

For some reason house speaker Johnson sees the US southern border crossings as a higher priority than thousands dying in Ukraine. We're getting refugee people willing to work (which historically is what America was built on: other countries' strays and mutts) and Ukraine is getting Russian missiles and artillery. I don't understand Johnson's reasoning. I guess he is just self-absorbed like so many other Republicans.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

I mean, it wouldn't be unreasonable if the actual reasoning was valid. What Republican voters really want is to be able to enact extreme and inhumane measures to keep more brown people out of the country. To be very clear here - Democrats are pro-border protection. Democrats are not refusing to do anything at the border as Republicans like to claim, Republicans just want to recklessly spend as a pandering token to their white nationalist voters.

Slava Ukraini!

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Still, 200M is not 60B, and is not enough. Why do you vote such horrible people into Congress?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Because older people vote, and younger people dont. That explains most of it, quite honestly.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They need WAY WAY more than this. Honestly, we've gotten to a point where anything short of huge *increases* in aid compared to before will mean Russia will permanently occupy Ukraine. And even then, I'm still not sure it's enough. Without air superiority, I dont think this is a winnable war on either side. Basically, the only way I see Russia getting pushed out is direct intervention by some western countries coming to their aid. Which is extraordinarily unlikely.

Slava Ukraini!♥ (and Fuck the GOP for unwilling to help!)

Unwilling to help is one thing, the GOP is straight up supporting the other guys and trying to help Russia.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

More.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

No one should be siding with Russia for ANYTHING.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The GOP has already openly admitted to being domestic terrorists. It is overwhelmingly clear through their words and actions that they are traitors to the country and a direct threat to national security. The GOP needs to be immediately reclassified as a terrorist organization, outlawed, and have its leaders arrested and thrown in prison. There is ZERO excuse for letting terrorists have any say in how a country is run, much less allow them to run it.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Republicans are asshoe. Speaker Johnson says that the House will go home at the end of this week regardless of the Aid legislation being pending. McConnell says there's no way a bill will be passed through the Senate before then because Repubs won't vote for the aid without the Right Wing House bill's border changes.

I know people do not get excited about Biden. I get that. But imagine what Trump would be doing in this situation. Elections matter. All of them.

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

I'm not a fan of Biden. But if the GOP nominates Trump, DeSantis, or Ramaswamy, I'm voting for Biden lol. Lesser of two evils.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

There is not a single candidate they are offering that is not just as bad. Christie is as close to "good" as they get, and he still voted along with everyone else, and only stopped supporting Trump once he lost. The GOP is little more than monsters in suits at this point.

Ukraine deserves our support while Israel deserves our disappointment. Ukraine is fighting for their Democracy against Russian aggression while Israel is fighting for genocide against a defenseless populace of Palestinians.

I wonder which members of Congress take donations from Russians?

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

None of them need to take donations from Russia over this. It's simply an unpopular thing among Republican voters. Trump single handedly turned the Republican party into a pro-Russian one.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

To americans that oppose this sort of thing. Your government is paying the american war factory to send its old weapons to ukraine or test newer stuff. The US is giving it self money when it does this. When it sends food aid, it pays for food that's normally dumped into the ocean. Its money thats pushed into your own economy, its how the usa stimulates its economy.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Well to be fair, there's a lot of people who oppose such a military industrial complex. But yes, it is misleading to think all this money is just vanishing overseas.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Republicans got to get off Putin’s dick and help fund Ukraine. He won’t stop with Ukraine. We stop him here or we face a significant war in the near future.

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

I think you gotta understand - if Trump wins in 2024, he's going to withdraw us from NATO. WE will not get involved in any war because NATO will basically collapse without the US, leaving Europe to hastily and unsuccessfully form some sort of EU military or pact among themselves. It would all be a giant mess without the assurances of having US backing, not just directly, but also supplies. There'd be loads of fighting over it, and Russia would be laughing while rearming.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Imagine these dumb fuck republican voters who keep electing the absolute scum of the earth who would rather stand with a foreign dictator than the legitimately elected President of the United States working to help a burgeoning democracy that's the second most populated nation in Europe and stuffed to the gills with natural resources fight for their freedom against a regional rival armed with nuclear weapons.

America has two political parties- the Conservative DNC and the Fascist GOP.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Democrats are overwhelmingly left leaning, but keep spreading this bullshit that only encourages people to not want to vote for Democrats.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm really scared for Ukraine if Russia is still not kicked out of there before the 2024 Elections

2 years ago | Likes 60 Dislikes 1

Putin’s hope is to have a new friendly president. This will last through the election for sure.

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

We CANNOT let the GOP win. They are holding SO MANY THINGS in abeyance in hopes of a 2024 victory. It will be the end of America as we have known it, and will throw our place on the world stage in with the other despots. I am 100% convinced that Putin was banking on as second Trump term to pull the U.S. out of NATO, before his invasion. Trump withdrew from several existing agreements, AND recalled our ambassadors. And, as much as I respect that we are only one of the many NATO nations, none of

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

the others have been throwing enough billions at their militaries that it ended up becoming TRILLIONS. We've got a war machine the likes of which NOBODY needs, and while withdrawing it from the stage of conflict may not be enough to swing things Russia's way, it siding WITH them definitely might - and in either case, the war will be bloodier and more costly by far than it already is, and yes, I KNOW it already is pretty terrible. (Assuming the GOP doesn't put it to work at home to quash those

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

of us opposed to fascism, anyway.)

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It would be unfathomable to let this happen, and yet we're looking at the very real possibility it does. Y'all all better fucking vote, no excuses. And none of this 'holding my nose for Biden' bullshit that only discourages people from wanting to vote. I'm seeing this shit everywhere again lately like nobody learned a fucking thing from 2016.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

We europeans have to ramp up our game, yes.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Europe is running out of shit to realistically give. Ukraine NEEDS the industrial production of the US to keep up the basics of support.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I literally said that.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This would not be an issue if the world - including the US - had responded a LOT more forcefully on Feb 23.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

agreed, a single squad of A-10's would have stopped this war by day 4.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean Feb 23, 2022, when Russia invaded Ukraine.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Everyone thought Kyiv would fall in days ... and then these glorious bastards started making fucking molotovs. Most people probably thought Zelenskyy would flee. He did not. And then we collectively failed them and then tried to make up for it. I am still fucking glad our countries do SOMETHING. And Germany is rearming, you have to consider what that means for us.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'm just pissed off that my entire life (I was born in 76, in the US) Russia was the enemy we were preparing to fight, and NOW the US decides "We love war, just not this one."

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Ukraine is a symbol as much as it is a stronghold. It must be defended.

2 years ago | Likes 192 Dislikes 5

It cannot fall like Poland. We will not walk this path another time.

2 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

Sending tax payer money, over $70B and no receipt, is not the way to defend against Russia.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 63

Oh yeah now you're critical of your "tax payer money" huh, Ivan?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Better than Republicans pissing taxypayer money at middle eastern countries because they want to bomb brown people for shits and giggles.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Only 70b ti humiliate Russia without even being in war? Old repubblicans would have besn throwing Money like Rain. The current maga are Just useful idiots paid from mosca

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

pretty much my thoughts too, current repubs are pretty much the most anti-american thing there is. Imagine bringing Dwight Eisenhower back to life and explaining to him the current situation regarding Ukraine and current politics in the US.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Your talking point is wrong. And bad. And you should feel bad.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

No. And your kids don’t want to see you

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

"And no receipt"?? Pop quiz: what's our total annual defense budget? 890 Billion? Sooooo 70 of that? For a war that's ACTUALLY HAPPENING rather than us just blowing up "dissidents" here and there? Ukraine can have 500 billion if they need it for all I care.

2 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 0

2021 military budget, ~$800B. No aid sent to ukraine. 2022, ~$876B. Aid sent to Ukraine, $70B. The charity was factored into the budget.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 26

The problem is that with what all the other send to ukrain they never going to win. it is just fueling up the war until nobody is left, and and a fucking lot of these money and aid just dissaper... there should be someone watching where this money is spend and why

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Military contractors like Lockheed Martin and Raytheon have already received billion dollar contracts to replenish US weapon stockpiles. They are selling US weapons to ukraine with the financial aid provided by the US. Then are being contracted by the US to make more. Cherry on top is Raytheon has already said they are not creating more jobs to handle the order. Double dipping on the tax payer.

Lend leases largely work by sending outdated tech that sits in storage, becomes inactive, and still costs money. It's like we have a storage unit full of PS4's, but we've all got PS5's, so why am I paying for storage?

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Pssst: We're sending our older supplies of ammunition, which do have a best-by date on them, and restocking. Which we'd need to do anyways.

2 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

As a taxpayer, I'm good with money going to a country that is ASKING for DEFENSIVE help. Seems like your beef is with the contractors, not Ukraine. But not providing aid to Ukraine doesn't fix contractors deciding to not create more jobs and contractors profiting off of taxpayers.
