The last part is what is not working anymore. Generative AI has been sold to everyone now, not just to who knows what is doing.
The companies will extract the max of costs cut by the shitty usage of slop, not well used coding AI enhanced.
While the “market will fix it” a lot of people will lose job.
And once it will be “fixed” it will indeed not be fixed at all, will be another black dot in the market, as underpaid low wage workers, exploited creatives, etc.

There are reasons to use curated AI Outputt. The Problem is: Curation needs Time and effort. For myself i have a slight legasthenia and as a DM for roll20 i use MY Graphicscard to generate NPC/Background Pics i need and i can't find. So yes i use LLM to correct my Texts when working professional and for recreation purpose SD. But i curate everything, i create around 20-30 pics for one NPC/Background and i write my Texts on my one then let the 400 words run through a LLM to get it better worded

The Problem with AI Outputt are the lazy ones and those who don't curate it. I am not very astistic but i know what i want and can curate it. And i don't show it on the Internet as "my work" but use it for a Game Session as a tool to improve it. There is a big difference. Something like Coke with their Ai Slop Commercial that was lazy cost and effort cutting. Thats always bad with or without AI support. One example of early good Ai implementation: Tesselation for Hair in Witcher3 and the likes.

My problem is specifically with people calling what AI does "art" and Portraying themselves as artists. (Art here includes writing, acting, music, etc). I don't care that much about generative AI being used for other reasons. I SPECIFICALLY loathe it being used to replace humans in the places that make life worth living (art).

Yea. I know it's a hot take on here, but I do think there is a place for genAI, specifically (as you mentioned) for anything you're doing casually. Like with D&D, you shouldn't be expected to spend money to pay someone to draw some pictures. The biggest issue is when companies use it as a method of skimping out on paying people they absolutely could pay, but choose not to.

Factory farming is orders of magnitude worse. Stop eating beef if you care that much, because that is a behavioral problem. We cant make raising cattle more efficient. But data centers can be as an engineering problem. It's actually hilarious people suddenly care about water usage? Then switch to eating more veggies first, that has a significantly larger positive impact and costs you nothing.
