Adorable pup turned up on our porch today

No collar, so I'm calling her Daisy. She likes Glenn Campbell.

FP Edit/Update:

(Little late, but I've been having some computer issues and never edited a post before. A day of firsts for me)

WE FOUND THE OWNER! As it turns out, a car had been stolen next town over with Maggie (I still like Daisy better, but Maggie's a good dog, too, Bront.) inside. The owners thought she'd been chased into the woods nearby their house and not even considered she'd been in the car. Thief/thieves blew through the backroads we live on and happened to boot her outside my house, she found her way to the house, and we got to spend the day together.

@Perkeleenrektu She likes Bruce Campbell, too. showed her some Army of Darkness while we chilled on the porch waiting for the owners to come get her.

They came to get her and brought her boy with them. After a few rapid fire family tragedies, she was just the infusion of joy I needed (even if it was only for an afternoon.) I hated to see her go, but it was worth it to reunite a family who'd lost a clearly loved member and get to spend the day with an awesome pup!

http://imgur.com/a/hNCct Small dump of our times spent together! I wish i could have gotten a picture of her with her family, but I asked permission and they politely asked not to be featured and I'm a man of my word.

That's how we got our dog! Showed up on a friend's porch and here we are, 6 years later. You're a good human.

You have been visited by pupper Santa, treat your gift well

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Excellent news edit. Dogs need their people.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Agreed. They were clearly missing their pup.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Many boops are needed

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Even tho the car thief is still shifty, I'm glad he/she booted Maggie out and she found you, a responsible and caring person. Good job @OP!

Meant to say shitty but you get the idea

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You're gentle on her mind

Are you now friends with her family? Maybe you can see her again someday

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They seemed appreciative, but not "invite this stranger to my house" appreciative.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

aw, oh well. You still did a good thing.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Adios?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Everyone loves Glenn Campbell!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm just a lineman for the county.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If she likes the name Glenn Campbell better, you should respect that

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Awwwww

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Name her Alice...Al for short. Alice Zymer. Fuhgeddaboudit

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Can I has the sweet little floof? :)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

She looks to be a blue queensland healer they are amazing dogs good on you @op for picking her up

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's what we'd been thinking. Definitely blue something.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Definitely Blue Heeler in that pup. Smartest and most loyal dogs you'll ever meet.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm getting that vibe from our time together so far.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

@OP is this a War on Everyone reference?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Never heard of it, in all honesty.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

"You're a Daisy if you do"

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The eat what you want tag makes me uncomfortable.

9 years ago | Likes 56 Dislikes 0

It was accidental and I can't change it from mobile so I'm just saying it's for feeding her as much as she wants

9 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 1

Nice twist

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Suuure... hey you do you, if you want to eat a dog hey, no-one is stopping you, but we will judge you... harshly...

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

For real though, one of my dogs is an Australian Cattle Dog (red) that just showed up one day. Great pup.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

She looks pretty good for a stray. (Coat is well kept and not skinny) are you trying to find her owners? Someone might be very worried.

9 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

Yep! From what my mom says, she was thrown from a car into a ditch and they sped of. Trying to track down that scumbag. Give em some words.

9 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 1

That's how my sister and I found her pup, Sparky. We found him on my birthday, so now we share one. :)

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Jesus Christ. I'll never understand how someone could just abandon their dog like that. I hope she doesn't feel too betrayed :(

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

I hope so, too, but we're giving her all the love she deserves while she's with us!

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Are you thinking about adopting?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

If we can't find an owner, absolutely!

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

that looks like my friend's dog !! Where are you @OP?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There are probably 1000's of dogs that look "similar" in the nation

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Rural Missouri.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I just called them to make sure. their dog is ok. This is a doppleganger for sure

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

@op why only one pictures though. I was disappointed there weren't more :(

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

picture*

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I took a bunch over the day. I can dump those at some point

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Edit a few into the description of this post if can :)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Please do!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you for adopting a stray, @OP. Take your upvote. You deserve more for not turning away an animal in need. WTF Eat What You Want tag?

9 years ago | Likes 170 Dislikes 4

She's been wolfing down everything I can get her from the fridge and drank quite a bit in the last couple hours. Feeding her what she wants

9 years ago | Likes 97 Dislikes 0

Take her to the vet ASAP, have them scan her for a chip and make sure she is healthy. Especially if you have other dogs around.

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

Definitely getting that done later today. We've got two other dogs, but they're around back and she's been up front all day. Haven't met yet

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

That's a badass cattle dog, very smart and loyal , she's a gem!!!

9 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 0

Definitely working on acclimating her. Live on a farm and she's smart enough to walk with me places without needing trained

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Don't over feed her, though. If a dog has been hungry for a while, they will over eat and it can lead to medical problems. Good on you!

9 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 1

Definitely keeping that in mind. She's a little on the slim side, so I'm keeping a close eye on her intake.

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Just gotta feed her a lil at a time. Don't think cattle dogs are prone to bloat like other dogs.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Wow OP adopted a cute friendly animal how heroic

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 18

A cute friendly animal THAT COULD HAVE DIED! So yes, very heroic.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Didn't put it out there as a "look at me" more a "look at how dope this dog is." I see where you're coming from, though.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Between myself, my girlfriend, and my parents, we've adopted 5 homeless cats, all of which are cute and several of which are friendly 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

2/2 if someone legitimately expected me to consider myself a hero because of this I'd want to slap them in the face

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

I know you didn't, I was replying to the comment not the post!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Check for a chip anyway

9 years ago | Likes 292 Dislikes 2

My concern would be for the best outcome for the dog, not for the "owners" who managed to "lose" their dog.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

May need to track them down & get their help to update chip info. We can't change our cat's chip to us unless the old owners say we can. :(

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

On it! She was thrown from a car at the end of our driveway. Believe me, I'd like to find previous owners more than anybody right now.

9 years ago | Likes 170 Dislikes 0

KiLl ThEm AlL!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

stating the obvious probably, but have a vet check her over. there may be a medical reason the scumbags dumped her

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

In her behalf, thank you. Thank you for everything. I hope you let her stay with you. All the positive vibes for both of you from here.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I doubt the previous owners chipped her if they threw her from a car! I wouldn't return her to them anyways! Eff those people!

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Second this.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I wouldn't find a chip and return her to them, either. I'd hunt them down and throw them from a car... off a highway.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I agree wholeheartedly if it was the previous owners. Gonna give it due process in case she was stolen or something, though.

9 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

If you find their info on a chip maybe you can report them for abandoning the dog

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I like you. Keep being awesome.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes, I agree. Keep us posted on the results!

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Update posted! Now with extra plot twist!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Well, in my naive i thought she was just lost and meant "dont adopt before you make sure nobody is looking for her"

9 years ago | Likes 86 Dislikes 2

But finding the asshole who threw her is also a good reason. Keep in mind theres a slight chance it was done by other people then registered

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I see your meaning! Didn't mean to come across as hostile. And we've thought of it being different people, too. Just want to find out more.

9 years ago | Likes 56 Dislikes 0

Just on the off chance, it could have been a car robbery that wanted to ditch a dog that was in the car. Has happened before sadly

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Good luck anyway! 21 years ago my older sister saw somebody dump a puppy in a parking lot, that dog gave us 15 years of joy.

9 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

Just looking at her teeth without having gotten her to a vet yet, she's pretty young. So she might be around a long time
