Last night, Aug 8 the rain came down "Gangnam Style"

There were many crazy and incredible images and videos like this, but one image emerged supreme:

Yup, that dude is on his phone, probably doing social media, while his car sinks... They say no man is an island. Well, until this guy ...

But people didn't even wait until morning to start memeing.....

Made up to look like a recent disaster film poster

And an ostensible scene from that movie ....

Plus even something for the commercial break....

Hey i read that you lived in Korea for 25 years! Where are you now?

All the soju naps end up at the bottom of the hill

meanwhile Poland losing 40% crops(so far) due lack of rain. , yep climate change.

4 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

More frequent extreme events are just a sign of our changing climate. Gotta get use to it, build around it at this point.

How's the help in their half basement apartment?

4 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Welp, I guess Parasite is happening now

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

How many abnormal extreme weather events we gotta have before deniers stop denying?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Friend in Seoul said everyone he knew is okay. Felt int'l media was exaggerating for ratings. Pres. said they have to expect this again.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think the first girl can ditch the umbrella at that point, she's not staying dry and it would really help her save that guy

4 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

#1 omg I thought that was his luggage until it stood up!!

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Just outside of Seoul in Seongnam. The toll is 8 dead at the moment. Rain forecast for the rest of the workweek. Things will get worse!!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The dude on the car posted his pov as well, I'll try and find it

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

FAKE... scenes from Blade Runner.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He's probably using what he can of his electronics before he has to get them wet. Maybe he's asking someone for a boat

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Working title: 비상선언, "Emergency Declaration" ... I'd watch that

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sauce please?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Seoul has perhaps the best wi-fi in the world, and it's cheap. You can stream TV on the subway. Great for testing new apps and adoption.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is fine

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Damn, reminds of that scene in “Parasite”

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The US's west coast use that amount of rain.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ahh yes, swimming in sewage

With jokes like that, you should consider a Korea in comedy!

The dude on his car was a reporter and he was reporting the flood from there on purpose. Still wild.

4 years ago | Likes 149 Dislikes 0

No he wasn’t. The reporter who was mistaken for the guy in the photo mentioned he was not the guy on his KakaoTalk profile page.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Here's his viewpoint

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Tbf I'd assume anyone caught like that would be taking pictures & posting them as it happens, reporter or not, I wasn't gonna knock him lol

4 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Or more likely, calling for help. Even if texting them. I wish people would stop assuming everyone is utterly stupid.

4 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

That could also be! He looks super chill either way

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I sure hope that guy swimming in the water has some good medicine ready.

4 years ago | Likes 57 Dislikes 0

Maybe he's swimming straight to the hospital.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He was prob taken to a hospital.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Just saw a headline there there are at least 7 dead, 6 missing in these floods. So yeah, it's not fun and games.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I choose the dude in #2 as my spiritual animal

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Your Seoul animal

It’s important to remember. When cities flood, the storm water systems and sewage systems get mixed together. So I would not swim in it.

4 years ago | Likes 576 Dislikes 2

*Flint Michigan* "ohh the sewage and drinking water need to be separated!"

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I would be more worried about the heavy chemicals especially in the long term.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Or drink it

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bad way to loose your Seoulmate

4 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Well that's shitty

4 years ago | Likes 139 Dislikes 0

Was gonna say the same thing.

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Or in places like Wash DC it's already mixed to begin with and it overflows through special valves instead of going to treatment plant.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, the one intentionally swimming was a bad idea... the one not able to stand up should stay home too...

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

After flooding that happens occasionally here, I see what looks like paper mache covering the ground in areas. Toilet paper mache..

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I would not swim in **it either

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

lol, keep out of the water,

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

And the nightmare of electrified water.... better stay away

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

The %-tile amounts of water mixed with sewage is so large that the small amount of sewage is negligible. Sea water would be more dirty.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And it all goes out to the ocean. Contaminating everything

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I hear lake Mead is full of dead bodies, I wouldn't drink that.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Drink clean sewage got it

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yesterday I watched Woodstock 99’ on Netflix. This is bring back memories of the mud. ??

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I watched that last night too, I had no idea that they tried to do another woodstock

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I watched that Saturday.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Oo i watched that Sunday

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I swam in Lake Erie once

4 years ago | Likes 50 Dislikes 0

That's gross. Fish pee in that water.

4 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 1

We have signs at lake Erie beaches telling us if the bacteria level is too toxic to swim that day.

4 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

And sometimes it's not fast enough and all your friends get sick.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A park ranger announced on a speaker to get out due to large amounts of fecal matter in the water that day

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Sounds about right. Usually the further away from cities, the "cleaner" the water.
