Not much of a makeup person myself but man the strides in improvement in makeup technology that's happened in just a couple decades.

Stamp on eyebrows are cool as fuck, and it's super cool to see videos like this, (and loved ones irl who have no brows,) have options like that available to them- vs trying to hand draw them on.

The wigs look expensive , I wonder the cost of one

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

in the 90s, I did technical support for a high-end, boutique wig shop in NYC. It was mostly men’s toupees, but some others with medical needs (from chemo or alopecia). A bespoke lace piece started in the $2500-$4k+ range depending on the variety and style of the hair.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lace front wigs have gone down in price by quite a lot, they used to be hundreds but now you can get them for $50 to $100.

Yea, she be attractive v

TinyOctopus has spoken the truth! Hair is beautiful, bald is beautiful, personality is pure beauty

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

When my girlfriend went through breast cancer treatment and lost all her hair, we had many conversations on what beautiful is. It took me awhile to get her to realize she is beautiful inside and out, even without hair.

I was kinda ready for it to be a wig, but I wasn't prepared for her just wiping away her eyebrows. :P

2 years ago | Likes 534 Dislikes 2

Other way round for me. Like women without makeup, ok (especially with light brow color where it's more noticeable), but I don't see them take the hair off that often.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

She probably has alopecia

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That IS alopecia. Autoimmune disease.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Some people never have or had hair, i met a guy who had that. His children too. Everybody assumed that they were on chemo which they weren't obviously. Just a genetical fluke.

No, it's a llama.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Looks like it. I have it, but it hasn't been an issue since I was a kid. Going bald as a teenage guys sucks

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

It really, really, really, really, stinks for young men to start losing their hair early, or at all really.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Tbf most men start hair loss in their twenties

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I got lucky. Mine grew back. I have a slightly receding line in my 40s, but so far have avoided the mpb that my dad and brother have

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I love to think it's a part of evolution as we don't rely on our natural coat anymore. Hats and jackets and layers of clothing as a result and a catalyst for the process. We're just in the awkward in between stage (which is all of evolution)

2 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I have vitiligo, a little bit on face and neck, and hands. I use cover up liquid to hide the depigmentation, I’ll never be as confident as her taking the facade off. Sometimes it makes me feel hopeless and fearful.

2 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 1

I wondered about vitiligo .. Does the skin have noticeable different tone throughout the year? Because maybe if you 3d scan yourself and have tattoo artists have at it on your digital self and see what patterns they come up with could be worth something.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The parts of the skin that haven't lost pigment are able to tan like normal.

The depigmented parts lack melanin to protect from UV. So, tanning has more risk to keep in mind.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My mom used to say that if you have vitiligo it's because you were a toblerone in a past life. I'm not disputing her.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I think vitiligo looks COOL.

2 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

Same!

2 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Bro, you got a LEGENDARY skin! If we're taking the lowest incidence rates of your skin type, it's a .004% incidence. .004% OR .00004/100 PEOPLE HAVE IT! That's actually probably Mythic skin. You literally have one of the absolute coolest skin types and anyone who disagrees is a little bitch. <3 You are gorgeous and valid, and a badass for working that shit every single goddamn day of your life!

Normalize people wearing wigs

2 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 2

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This includes not insulting men for wearing toupees

2 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

They're one of very few cosmetic items that you see most everybody use (women/men/non-binary, old & young, wealthy & low income, countless ethnic groups, etc). Given that they've been around for over 4000 years and are a high demand, high revenue industry today, I'd say that they're "pretty" normal and the people who have objections are the ones who are atypical.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If we're normalizing stuff, why not normalize the thing that people try to disguise with wigs?

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

"Go with the English guy, but lose the wig." -president of Paramount Network Television, John Pike

This photo, as I understand it, is not from the audition, but the fifth season episode "Violations."

I'm not going to fact check this, as a treat:

A reporter once asked Gene Roddenberry about Captain Picard's baldness, "Surely they would have cured baldness by the 24th century," Roddenberry countered, "In the 24th century, they wouldn't care."

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I knew the bare story but not the actual words, thanks a lot for this!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Let's normalize everyone doing whatever they want with their life, as long as they don't harm others.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

On board with the sound but not with the letter. Why would you want defensive behavior to be normal when it's based on being treated badly? I don't want to normalize people carrying weapons around with them because they're afraid to go without. I don't want it to be normal for people to pretend to be straight or to wear crucifixes or conform to some other thing because they fear being marginalized otherwise. Do we have a different understanding on what normalize means?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Because that's not something they WANT to do but something they are FORCED to do. If you do something out of fear, then it's not your decision entirely.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Both. Long as it doesn't harm others, why should anyone else mind

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sure! I mean it depends on what you mean with normalize. Of course it's great if someone just wants to wear a wig to play around with their looks. But I get wary when we're talking about normalizing wearing wigs to appear normal. Normalizing hiding your condition because you don't like how people treat you otherwise is directly opposed to normalizing your condition. You can't just "normalize both" in that case, I think.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

You can. You simply let ppl do the one they want and stop giving a damn. It's really not complicated.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I know this is probably messed up but if I were dating her I'd randomly lick her head at the oddest times for shits and giggles probably piss or off or make her last 😅 but I know I wouldn't be able to resist the urge sorry
