Extremist Christians made up a verse about gay being a sin and drive that in to kids early and grind them in to the belief that if they were gay, they'd go to hell. Like even if ~20% of anti-lgbt republicans were closeted homosexuals, its a stereotype to assume 100% are. Pretending that Downdetector isn’t a valid source is not a good strategy. The report is that Grindr was not accessible from Milwaukee. Not that there was a systemwide outage. Systemwide issues are the only things Grindr’s official status page tracks. I clicked back through the last 2 years of incidents and never once did they report a localized issue, only systemwide ones. Downdetector, going off user reports, is a far better source for localized outages.
This is a real effect.
