Are those African or European hummingbirds?

And they have the same basic skeletal structure and internal organ arrangement you do. Cloaca not withstanding.

I live in an apartment, work/school all day, can't have a dog. So, I feed hummingbirds. I can see the feeder from my bed, sit, read, watch.

I'll always wondered what women who have 4 color receptors see in these pictures.

Did you know they snore too? Look it up

Fun Fact: Humming birds are only native to the Americas. Mostly North America.

Mindo Ecuador is infested with them. Did they migrate there with their coconuts?

My grandmother adored hummingbirds. When she passed away they started coming up to me frequently. Feels.

I was into collecting feathers for a while, and got pretty lucky to find one from one of these feathery bees.

The closing credits of The Lion King were rolling in the other room when I read this. Music by Elton John.

I'm going to have nightmares about this. How'd you get that past the goats?

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oh my gosh, if only we could walk outside and have hundreds of these birds flitting around us. What a wondrous world it would be.

They're also aggressive, territorial little hoverbirds. Probably not as great as it sounds on paper.

I would sign up to be attacked by a charm of hummingbirds any day. And yes, a group of hummingbirds is a charm. : )

Live in SoCal; we have 3-4 of these guys buzzing around our backyard 24/7. They like to aim for our heads. Aggressive little cuties!

Do they have any real impact with their beak. They weigh nothing so I imagine their "attack" is like a butterfly.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No clue; they just like to buzz really close to us to scare us off. Haven't hit us yet ;)
