I love all the “insanity” posts, but for the first time since 2016, it’s starting to feel like I’m not taking crazy-pills anymore.
Many of the conservatives/republicans I know and nearly every liberal finally seems to be waking up to reality and I’ve even had a few people tell me “yeah, you called it and you were warning people way ahead of time”
I may still be a little crazy, but at least I’m no longer feeling gaslit by society.

Netflix, in particular, apparently tells show-runners and movie-makers to repeat basic plot points and summaries, character names or background details, and other such information multiple times—like 4 or 5 times—out loud, because people playing on their phones while watching ‘are distracted and prone to missing info that might keep them engaged.’

TBF, this was a super common thing when shows aired on conventional TV back in the day. Thing happens, cut to commercial break for a couple minutes, come back, "I can't believe Saddam Hussein tried to catfish me!!" This is just another example of an old problem that seems new because the Internet blows shit out of proportion.

I had a job approve my short-term disability claim and 6 week leave from work only to try to fire me 3 days into said leave for job abandonment. Thank goodness my union reps kept on top of that kind of stuff, they were the ones who let me know the company was trying to fire me (never heard from the company). When the union jumped their shit about it HR was all in the "whoopsie, we didn't have all the paperwork together, ha ha, no big deal" like they didn't personally approve the leave forms.

Some years ago, I started a podcast/newscast with a mate of mine, focused on esports in our country, where we invited professionals to talk about their matches, provide deep analytics, share the latest news around esports, etc. Both of us also happened to be live commentators during tournaments, contracted to an esports organisation.
