Monster DAMN

The stabilization is amazing. But it really doesn't capture just how jarring those landings are.

At least he's got a safety mullet on.

If I was a millionaire, I'd ride in one of these over flying into space for 11 minutes.

Damn, I bet that feeling when they catch air off a jump is fookin' sweeeeeet

I've been to one of these events in my life when I was 7 in Alaska and was certain it was the height of human entertainment.

3 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They look so damn happy!

3 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The fact that bullshit like this even exist is a disgrace for humanity.

I went to a monster truck rally once - it was way more awesome than I thought it would be. If you get the chance, you should check one out

Warning, they are incredibly loud - highly recommend ear plugs!

They are an absolute guilty pleasure. I highly recommend folks try to catch one as well.

Does anyone have this clip but seen from the stands? Looks like she almost crashed into the other truck at the end and braked just in time while driving on two (or one) wheel? Not a monstertruck but I lovethe suspension... https://imgur.com/qEcSeXW.mp4

that perspective is... weird.

3 weeks ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Yeah the gyroscopic camera was a strange choice. Disorienting.

3 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think that was the point. A camera anchored to the truck is going to only show movement out the window on the horizon, having it anchored to the driver means you see/feel what the driver felt.

Yeah, I’m tired of every action shot having a dumb fisheye effect

I know they wear a fire suit... But she should have some fun with it. And make the suit skin tone color and paint on a bikini on it... From the stands, the fans probably couldn't tell, but it would really get the crowd cheering, and she's still fully clothed and safe. Yes, it's a silly idea and there's probably rules against it, but, meh, why not.

"aaand send... there we go" 🤡🤳🏻

3 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The reason why not is because that's creepy.

Go jerk off to the Victoria's Secret catalog FFS.

Anyone else curious what all the center-console adjustments she's making during the run are? I know there's a gearshift, but there's a ton more buttons down there she seems to be adjusting. Anyway, cool vid, bruh.

I think the rear toggle switch controls the rear-wheel steering. The transmissions on these trucks are probably manually shifted automatics like they use in a lot of drag racing classes (you have to shift 'em yourself, but there's no clutch.)

Might be Nitrous and/or water injection. Those are things that can't really be automated and are used only briefly.

Came to the comments wondering the same thing. Looks like she’s piloting a Gundam.

3 weeks ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

They use a separate control to steer the back wheels. Could be that. Every limb the driver has is doing double duty except the steer hand. Guy told me it's worse than flying a helicopter.

Seems more of a preserve than a jam

3 weeks ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

You know what the difference between jelly and jam is?

3 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The people at KY don’t seem to.

Must be jelly, cause jam don't shake!

I remember seeing Big Foot when it was doing mud runs with tractor tires.

3 weeks ago | Likes 52 Dislikes 0

When it was still very clearly just a really lifted F150. I think i had Bigfoot II on a poster on my wall as a kid.

Do you remember this bad boy from the early 80s?

3 weeks ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes! Never had one, but I had a decent collection of Stompers.

And here i thought Bigfoot was elusive...

I grew up next to thunder chicken’s rest point. Our annual lake trip drove right by it, and we’d always stop and take pictures with it.

Bigfoot was the 90s golden age of monster trucks. It's interesting the story of how and when monster Jam came around and why Bigfoot doesn't participate.

3 weeks ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Do tell?

3 weeks ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If I remember correctly, it had something to do with the company that owns monster jam wanted more rights and control of the teams, names and merchandise. And Bigfoot was one of the few who refused to sell out. While you can see Bigfoot appear it smaller shows across the country. You won't see them in monster jam.
