IPA is pumpkin spice for basic white guys

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Basic Indian chick here. I love them… and pumpkin spice. I’m a mess. ?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Tough to throw stones. I had a pair of hip-hugger Levi bell-bottoms, fringed, American flag on crotch, Japanese guy offered $10k. 28in wst.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

It's a lifestyle, apparently.

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

IPAs are great, the problem is they're crowding out other beers in bars/stores. Hard to find good porter/stout/pale ale, etc.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I tend to go for IPA on tap, but lately I'm getting uncomfortable driving after 1 on tap

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You shouldn't be driving after drinking at all.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I see nothing wrong with this...I'm confused

4 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 8

Cigarettes are bad for you, man. You should quit.

4 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

I agree but that's their choice.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'd rather have an IPA than the overly sweet oat swill they call Finnish lager.

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 6

This is funny but also, let people like what they like. I love IPAs. I’m also a boring mom and I wear Halloween socks all through October.

4 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

Nice. Also a mum, I like IPA too, and I’m already using my ‘witches brew’ cauldron mug.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I’ve been so tempted to buy a mug like that! Wow there must be dozens of us! Dozens!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Do it and don’t look back

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Those shoes actually looked quite good ._.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is 100% me, but my beard is lower.

IPA will forever mean isopropyl alcohol for me...

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm nothing of the sort, but send me a good bear I have never tasted before. IPA, PA, APA etc. Its all so delicious.

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 4

I wonder if he's any good at anchor management.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Oh shit. They got me.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well saisons are hit or miss, sours are rare to come by, and you need to be in the right mood for a stout.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

topknot missing?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Quite like those boots tbh. I've got some similar except mine are cheaper and covered in dog shit.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

HA! I only fit two of those!

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

In the bay, these are either all techies or kids from upper middle class families trying to live a bohemian lifestyle.

4 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 3

Kinda the way bohemian types have always been. Hippies were predominately from middle or upper middle class families and educated.

4 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

If that’s a fixed gear bike, can confirm.

4 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

i kinda want one with the internal axel, looks cool

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

look at the handle. no wires, not even tape.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What's wrong with a fixed gear?

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nothing.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

They're meant for track racing and have no brakes. If you ride that around a city, you're asking for an accident.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

You can brake by stop peddling. I know plenty of people who ride fixies in New York City without incident.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Beer tastes like cow piss, wine like rat piss, vodka like Windex, alcohol in general is nasty af and is a shitty high...yeah I went there...

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

That's like, your opinion man, and that's okay. Let people enjoy things.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why are you so versed in the tastes of various animals’ piss?

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

You go a little wild when you first give up the sauce.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah I got over it years ago.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nothing wrong with IPAs, but they have turned into the pumpkin spice lattes of basic white doods

4 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 6

I dont really get it. Many people like them, and thats bad?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Most of them were pretty terrible, too. Seemed like a pissing contest between brands to see how much hops they could cram into it

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Step 1: don't give a fuck what people think, drink what you like

4 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Even if you don’t give a fuck about other people, they still have an impact on the market. An increase in the availability of product A

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

will often come at the expense of the availability of products B, C, D, etc. because of the physical limit of storage space.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Basically, you get too much of something and not enough of the other things, unless you’re lucky enough to live near a specialty shop.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I love a good IPA but it sucks going into a store with a craft beer section and it is literally 98% IPA or double IPA. Variety wouldnt hurt

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Yes, I want sours!

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Fuck yeah! Sours and goses are amazing

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Writing my thesis on my typewriter.

4 years ago | Likes 98 Dislikes 2

This is my idea of hell. I could *never* create anything of substance without being able to endlessly adjust it without having to retype it.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Like, if you made me write a research paper by hand (done it, once; field geology), then tore it up and told me to do it over? IRL ragequit.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But, it turns out I have anxiety and probably ADHD, so every technology that lets me *avoid that bullshit* has been cathartic.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I got an e-ink tablet that lets me do 'paper but unlimited erasing and space in any practical sense' finally. Legitimate life-changer.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've had horrible handwriting for my whole life because I always get too frustrated by repetition to practice getting better without anxiety

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you bring a typewriter to a coffee place you are literally satan. Change my mind.

4 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 2

Figuratively.

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Literally.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I swear this happened. Was at a breakfast place in Portland. Hipster with a typewriter finished typing something. Pulled the page out and...

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

..took a pic of with his phone, and I assume texted it to someone or maybe posted it online.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or you have either ADHD or a lack of discipline and want to be able to type out something without constant distractions at your fingertips.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 7

You can get a laptop or other device with a dedicated word processor mode that doesn't allow you to enter other programs. I have a love for>

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

>typewriters myself, but they're a huge annoyance in the modern age, and if you're using one in a public place, you're being a bother.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This dude gets it. ^

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

I didn't really miss the point of "I don't like this kind of person, to a degree parallel to mental illness." I just chose an alternative.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

We're talking about someone who'd bring a loud typewriter to a public place meant to chill. It's objectively a shitty thing to do.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

People get stuck in a time and place. The formative era in their lives. That “hipster” look will be the look of that age group forever

4 years ago | Likes 122 Dislikes 7

I see that happening with other people my age (35). I seem to still change things up every so often.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Or you know they just do what they want and don't want to change because other people don't like it

4 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 4

This. Been wearing flannels, jeans, boots since hs, not going to stop now bc people think its "hipster". Fuck craft beer tho

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nah, this meme is just stuck in time. I’m of this age group so I’m old enough to know that people weren’t rocking 70’s looks in the 90’s

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So im destined to be work tshirt with pocket guy and jeans dude for the rest of my life? Awesome.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

90s flannel guy here... Can confirm.

4 years ago | Likes 72 Dislikes 1

Did you bust out your 90’s flannel when they came back into style?

4 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

I got rid of SO many 90s things back in the day. Would be fly as hell today.

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

We’ve never stopped wearing them

4 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 0

Its hard wearing, hides marks and is good for the winter. Why would you ever stop? Might as well ask if people will stop wearing jeans.

4 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

You mean farts

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

That's why we love them...

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh great, an 'IPAs and anybody who likes them suck' thread.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No. I never want to hear such dirty thoughts.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Taste like *the Tin Man's piss.

4 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 8

A good* ipa tastes like alcoholic grapefruit juice

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

IPAs just taste like beer to me. And beer just tastes rancid I’d actually rather drink vodka straight

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 5

*grapefruit peel.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You coming to my house and disrespect grapefruit juice like this? IPAs taste like earwax, but without the complexity or flavor

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Depends on the IPA, obviously.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Ipa tastes like liquid donkey shit, and I say this as a person who thinks beer is the best drink in the world.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 10

It's amusing how beer people think all beer should taste the same. Do you think a whisky enthusiast likes every type of whisky?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I'm also a whisky enthusiast. And you're right. But I never said beer should taste the same. I like many types of beer, bu I hate IPA.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

have never tried liquid donkey shit but I'll take your word for it

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 0

God, I love this gif.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I love grapefruit juice, but I'd rather inhale my own farts than drink an IPA.

4 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 8

I like grapefruit juice though

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I get a hint of pine needles

4 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 1

So, Pinesol

It's just liquified shoe rubber to me.

4 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 9

You absolutely dont have to like it but it sounds very much like you had oxidized ipa to me. Have you tried several brands?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ah, a fellow shoe rubber fetishist?

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's malort typically

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Some people prefer Bud Light. Those people are questionable.

4 years ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 11

Lots of craft beer is good, but IPAs are still nasty.

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 21

Idk why the downvotes. There are plenty of shitty ipas and amazing ipas. Different variations of hop blends will appeal to some & not others

4 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 7

Clown Shoes Galactic IPA is a really good representation of Galaxy hops. A lot of tropical fruit notes without any actual fruit used.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I've noticed people just shit on certain things when others like wine for example, they accept that it's an acquired taste

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

" don't yuck my yum" is the phrase that comes to mind. Whatever.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I've yet to try an IPA that didn't taste like ass. Any suggestions?

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 3

I've developed a great liking to Elysian Space Dust.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Go to a local brewery. Explain what you do/don't like. They're beer nerds. They normally enjoy finding people the perfect beer for them

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Where do you live is prob the first big question.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Ireland my friend

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You may want to start with regular pale ale. IPA is great, but it's not the only good beer. There's stout, porter for example.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Have you considered that you might just not like IPA's?

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

It's a possibility but I'd like to try a few more just to see

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

New England IPAs are a good starting place. Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Thing and New Belgium Voodoo Ranger Hazy Juicy IPA are easy to drink

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

See I think those two are both disgusting and I love IPAs. I like southern tier 2XIPA or regular Sierra Nevada ipa. Hazy is a turnoff

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Goes to show how many kinds there are. I only really like IPAs but certainly not all of them. Local brewery makes a 9.2% one that's delish

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'll see if I can find something like them in Dublin ?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Martin’s Off licence will have them

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Go to a brewery that has them on tap. IPAs are best served fresh.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

See if you can find Imagine-NEIPA-24. It's made by Brehon Brewing and will definitely work.
