Recently quit smoking, transitioning to a vape to give me the nicotine my body craves while not slowly killing myself with smokes. Now everyone calls me out for vaping. Sometimes you just can't win. Side note, how do y'all make it through work days without smoke breaks? I've weaned myself off nic enough I can make it through the work day, and it sucks! Cant chat with my smoker buddies every couple hours.

Fuck them... just do you

There are other options that aren't as douche-flutey...

Some people are like so good job!

Good for you! Sometimes I use a nicotine patch or nic gum to get thru the day. Other times I'll go to the bathroom & sneak a vape or two.

We get it...you vape.

I make fun of my friend that vapes too, but in a kind way so he knows it’s just for fun. Better with his cloud of lies, candy everywhere !

It is a first, great step. When you are ready, replace vaping with a positive habit.

Fuck em

You really haven't quit anything, have you. Be honest. Just quit. Everything. It isn't fatal to do so.

Nicotine does absolutely nothing for the body so why keep smoking??

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ever heard of addiction?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Purchased a Subaru yet or already own one?

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

I reckon that since it arose overnight, the smear campaign against vaping was invented by tobacco lobbyists to stop smokers from switching.

Most people that vape are douchebags, so you get lumped in with them. Good on you for quitting @OP

I’ll take your word that you know most people that vape. I mean, you don’t cuz Most people are in China making vape pens- but sure man ok

by enjoying not being a slave anymore...I was always thinking of when I could get my next one. You can do it

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Ohmyfuckinggod. We get it. You vape. Jesus.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 6

v but no yeah that task sucks when you're doing something to make a positive change

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

You're vaping? I'm not sure that counts as quitting smoking. Take the plunge. Embrace the cold turkey.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Quit cold turkey, it's the only way.

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 10

No. Very few people succeed that way. Only a few do. Medication, patches, gum, and many techniques are available to quit smoking.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

All of this.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

Fuck 'em. As a non-smoker it's SO much more pleasant to be around people who vape. Cigarettes make people stink and the smoke is unpleasant.

Vape aromas, all of them, make me ill.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

I prefer the smell of cotton candy to cigarettes.

Boom +1

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Vaping is damaging you as well. Just not as fast as the smoke does.

1) "However, although most experts agree that nicotine does not directly cause cancer, some research suggests that nicotine may lead

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

2) "to a type of DNA damage that increases the risk of cancer." If you've got evidence that goes past "maybe" you should share it.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yeah, the goal is to quit it too. Just needed to get rid of the smokes

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There is a benefit. The vape doesnt really hurt others around you. Other than visually. Those things look stupid. lol

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Popcorn lung.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I'm using the same route. Best decision ive ever made. Keep up the good work!

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You do you, mom's smoked since she was a teen and finally kicked the habit with the help of vaping.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If the way smoking studies were handled is any metric, it's only 40 years till we know the full effects of vaping in total.

7 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I'd probably go with the certain death over probable death, but maybe that's just me. WAIT I GOT THAT BACKWARDS.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Too late. No take backs.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, us non smokers fucking hate you pricks trying to get a smoke break every hour. So yeah, here's where you can learn how we feel.

You should, but it is more like about 6-8 mins... ex smoke

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Don’t hate. They are hurting their lungs. It’s a terrible health consequence.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Here's a novel idea: everyone should have a short break every hour. Luckily I work in a field where this is a complete non-issue to do.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Good idea for people take a 5 min. break at the top of the hour, stretch, have a cup of water or coffee, etc., BUT then work for next hour.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yep. Let's just like tell fire-fighters: Hey you been at this for an hour? Take 5. No worry, the house'll still be burning when you get back

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Fairly sure the fire fighters won't be taking cigarette breaks either.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Firefighters can smoke as the health impacts are negligible due to entering burning buildings if they fight one fire a month they can smoke

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes, emergency work-ER, ambulance, police, crisis work, you have to keep moving, but you then have to build in times later when slow ½

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2/2 break to reduce stress, OR you burn out. Hourly breaks only work for some jobs. ⅔

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

3/3 As a manager, have a large # of staff who lack basic work skills and are not productive as I would like.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As long as you quit vaping as well. Otherwise you just switched addictions. Both are harmful

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

False equivalence. While both are harmful, the scientific community largely agrees one is notably less, so it's still an improvement.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

I wasn't arguing anything to make a false equivalence. All I said was they're both harmful. Trading addictions. He should quit both.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I didn't mention anything about one being better than the other.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Acting like there was no positive step made and reducing it to just a trade is absolutely a false equivalence here.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

I didn't act like that. I used vaping to quit cigars myself. I was just saying you should also quit vaping. It's still trading though.>>>>

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If your friend said they started eating salads instead of pizza, would you tell them "as long as you quit salads too, all you've done is 1/2

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Maybe I could have worded it better?
