See here is the thing. Currently my country holds large amounts of russian money, that the European union is pressuring us to release and use to aid Ukraine. And in paper that's a great fucking idea but at the same time. The EU union won't even make an agreement that if this would backfire on us and cause issues with Russia that it would help us in any way, we are a tiny ass struggling country. So yeah... How about the EU union actually step up properly instead of trying to force solo missions

USA must depose its dictator and go back to its fucking 1994 agreement to defend Ukraine as part of the deal to give up on nuclear bombs in exchange to never been attacked by Russia.
USA cannot decide if stay with Ukraine or not. It has a fucking multilateral agreement and should fulfill it, no matter the costs.

What's kinda ironic is that Ukraine could still be a major nuclear weapon manufacturer if it wanted (it was third in the world when it stopped), if things get bad enough I can see it ramping that up and selling a bunch of relatively low tech, dirty nukes to all sorts of countries to finance itself. We really only have ourselves to blame for not standing in properly as required if that happened.

The idea is great, the problem is backing with what weapons? Let's look at 155mm shells for example, European stores are almost empty and production doesn't even come close to Ukrainian requirements. Europe would have had to actually meaningfully ramp up production over the last years to make this possible, but like always fumbled hard.

Kinzinger's family publicly disown him in an open letter, and had multiple death threats placed against him when he went against Trump after January 6th, it's some of the reason why he dropped the Illinois race. I'd feel bad for him, but the writing was on the wall with the horrific cult mentality around Trump long before then. From what little I've read, if shit goes sideways and Russia somehow comes out ahead, Belgium will supposedly be the ones getting sued for releasing the money and on the hook for it, so they want some assurances the EU won't just leave them out to dry. The EU is gobsmacked at the mere suggestion Russia might win and thinks Belgium is overreacting, so they don't think it's worth addressing at all. (Though, I'm sure I've glossed over a fair bit here.)
