This was (night still be haven't checked) a way to easily farm runes. Not surprising two people would be doing it at the same time.

Heading towards Mohg's fortress. You get there via a teleporter in the hidden area of the winter zone.

If you turn left at that grace you can look out over the cliff and see a giant death chicken on the ledge below; shoot it with your bow ===>
Good tip for some extra 10-13k runes
Doing that and then doing the stuff in the video with gold scarab on netted me about 110k per run on NG+, takes barely over a minute per run
and it'll run off the ledge, giving you 13k runes on first playthrough, 22k on NG+. Rest at Grace and repeat to heart's content. ===>
Currently the best farming spot in the game that I'm aware of.
