Divided we fall.

They need to do more, much more.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 15

Who will they side with when push comes to shove? Not the Westerners.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 8

So many comments to downvote

but OP, this doesn't fit the narrative, what were you thinking.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 4

Somebody's gonna get pissed for not being able to get a good photo on that bridge and blame Muslim 'protests' for ruining England. Sad/true

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

*sees controversial topic* ..... *scrolls to bad comments*

9 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 2

Whats sad is they have to do this to remind ppl they arent the enemy.

9 years ago | Likes 84 Dislikes 14

Now all together, 1...2...3... jump!

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 65

I love how abhorrent is in quotes. XD

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 52

Why? That is the actual word they put out in a statement. So it's quoted.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

It makes me laugh because sometimes people use quotes to denote that something is facetious, or wasn't actually said.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Quotationmarks have two meanings. One makes this look absolutely terrible.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It does make it look like an "air quotes" sarcasm thing.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Holy shit! These comments. It's like a woman flashed her ankles and wanted to own property

9 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 23

Many hate islam as much as they hate judaism and christianity. Me included. Fuck them all. Inb4 "muh fedora"

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 14

it's probably because most of the Islamic world is believes things that we find horrifying and barbaric.

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 12

The women pictured above are in the UK, not "the Islamic world," cupcake

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yeah, in the western world those beliefs melt right away.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

yeah, but the word islamic is barely necessary and easily replaced in that sentence.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

potential replacements:"religious" "political" "christian" "western" "eastern" "living" "new" "old" -all work just about as well as the rest

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No, you can't.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

Yeah I see your point, the problem is that they believe the same things. Gay stoning, anti-feminism, etc. I think it's just xenophobia

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I grew up in the rural south and have never met anyone who wants to kill gays outside of Pakistan and Afghanistan. Donald trump got a 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Standing ovation when he talked about gay rights. 'Anti feminism' basically isn't real in the west. Don't equate the west with Islamism. 2/2

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Not that I'm saying it's the same but they relate to people who believe what they do to the extreme, by all rights Islam should fit in

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And we're stoned to death by Muslim men 5 minutes later. Lol

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 21

This takes place in London.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I understand that. Does that make this religious oppression of womens' rights acceptable? Just because Islamic law does not prevail?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I need to "educate myself" in order to be empathetic to women of another religion? Fuck off with that shit. They made their own decisions.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

nice gesture but considering how little value woman have to Muslims near pointless.

9 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 193

Everybody's got a mom.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

If you don't think women have value then obviously you're head is too far up your ass to get the point. This isn't for those people.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Liberals will criticize "white" theocracy. Like Christianity, but they don't let you talk shit about Islam. Which is easily the most 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 76

Destructive religion of our time. Islam needs reform. It isnt just radical terrorist muslims that are wrong. 78% of British Muslims 2/3

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 35

Thought the Dutch cartoonist that drew Muhammad should have been legally punished. It's bullshit and quite frankly I'm sick of being 3/4

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 35

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 40

I am glad you made 4 comments, I got to downvote you 4 times without expending extra effort.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 4

Right well if you knew anything about Islam you'd know it's extremely close minded and doesn't need extremists to be dangerous.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

This is what religious Islam looks like. The attack, and those who perpetrate and support such attacks are political Islam. Big difference.

9 years ago | Likes 63 Dislikes 23

you have to be really deluded to believe that.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Isnt that a "no true scotsman". Or something like that?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

The former practises their religion within a society. The latter wants the society to conform to their religious beliefs.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

No. Because these are actual Muslims who do not condone the acts. No one is speaking on their imagined behalf via the "Scotsman" fallacy.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I think this is what Islam in the West looks like. In many countries, Islam is inseparable from politics, and often the most repressive

9 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

I think the truth is, Islam doesn't really reflect as much as country politics do. Oppressive countries will be oppressive wether they are

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Muslims in the middle East or Christians in eastern europe

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

states are theocratic. It's not representative to use the minority snapshot in Western countries for all groups/beliefs under the ~2 billion

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

person umbrella.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

that's exactly what is meant by the use of the term political islam. that islam which is inseparable from politics.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

that said, a person may live in a region of political islam and yet practice personal/private, spiritual/religious islam. shit's complex, yo

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, they are both religious Islam. Regardless it's a religious & political ideology by design.

9 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 16

Terrorism is always politically motivated, even when it piggybacks off religion. ISIS aren't proselytizers for anything but their own cause

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

I don't understand what that has to do with this, but yes, that is accurate

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I feel like it's an important distinction to make, as some people seem to think that ISIS members are all imams or something.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yes, but 'mainstream' Islam is still supportive of what we in the west would consider extremism.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I'm sorry. But If my religion had a chronic terrorism problem. I'd leave it.

9 years ago | Likes 53 Dislikes 187

If it's christianity it DOES. It was called the crusades & you know the whole thing where it was genocidal against native americans....

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Your entire life is a chronic retard problem. Maybe you should leave that. Make your parents happier at least.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 3

Anyone remember the Crusades?

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Again I stated this the crusades were wars of defense stop miss attributing facts to suit your arguments. Do it right or not at all

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I'd say the cause of the problem is turmoil in home countries which are mostly Muslim, and the rise in islamophobia, more than the religion.

9 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 1

I hate Islam-bashers, buuuut I would put it ENTIRELY on home oppression. Saudi and Iraq are failed states that are "exporting" their 1/3

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

people's rage to the rest of the world. The Arab Spring saw Egyptians telling reporters their excitement at the prospect of toppling the 2/3

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

the regime + replacing it w/an open meritocracy. Suicide bombing is psychologically just a diff way to seize control of their destiny :( 3/3

I feel the same way about Christian women every day

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 27

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 6

This only offends you because it's true. Muslim women who follow the tenets of their faith are subservient to their husbands.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

Who said I was offended? I just find it annoying you try to speak for every Muslim woman everywhere without talking to her first.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You may not like that someone pointed it out, but it is true. I'm sorry if your sensibilities have been offended.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

It offends me that woman are treated like property. It offends me that those woman had to ask permission to stand on that bridge.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Well fyi, Christianity says the same thing. Where is your outrage now?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Are there Christian woman on the bridge? I thought this post was about Muslim women.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So are Christian women

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Terrorism is a political issue, not a religious one. This is something that must be acknowledged.

9 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 9

The problem most people confuse is Religion and Ideology, Islams Ideology can have such Vast meaning, 1/3

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

and people who read into these ideologies may find them selves turning towards Terrorism. 2/3

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There is little we can do to stop how people take the words of their God, so Countries need to set priorities. There is another 3/4.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sadly the easiest and most efficient way is to put up a guard around people who follow the islamic Faith 4/4

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Much of Islam is in Church States so the two are intertwined, though.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Christianity used to be in the US. Many wish to bring it back. Just because they are intertwined doesn't mean they are inherently the same.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Of course not, but it does mean they are hard to separate.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Holy fucking crap, imgur. This comment section looks worse than 9gag. You idiots act like women showing solidarity are worse than terrorists

Just cause they're muslim. Dafuq is wrong with you!?

To be fair, a lot of Imgurians have problems with women of all colors! Wait, that isn't a good thing.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Islam isn't a race tho. I have friends (i'm german) who converted from christianity to islam cause they felt more accepted in this community

They're getting downvoted so we got that going for us

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This is worse those women aren't escorted by their family is one isent even hearing a headscarf. They should be stoned.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 25

Feels ridiculous to point out that not all muslim women wear headscarfs. For the majority of muslim women in europe this is optional

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ah so for the minority it is forced?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes!? Thats part of my point.

9 years ago | Likes 550 Dislikes 52

Ssshh don't said it, it will triggered them

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 15

Their husbands won't let them

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

They have. The problem is, most US news sources fail to see a monetary value in promoting peace.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

You dont have to speak out against radical islam if youre a radical muslim.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

My biggest issue is when the Muslims who hold positions of power don't speak out, I know most don't support terrorist attacks.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Sadiq Khan, the mayor of london spoke out. He is a muslim.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As did the Muslim Council of Great Britain

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

They want Allah himself to come down and condemn it. Whatever muslims do to condemn it wont be enough because they hate them. Simple as that

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

this happens to be the first coverage i've actually seen of them speaking out against the terrorists. like...ever

9 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 13

Because they don't get coverage. If you were to look, I promise you'd find it

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

That racist line is said on FOX news more often than "Why don't Blacks speak out against black on black violence ??!?!!?"

9 years ago | Likes 54 Dislikes 20

Lol. How is that statement racist? You are what's wrong with the world today. Please get educated.

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 45

GET WOKE, SHEEPLE!!!!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

They do, they just dont listen or care... And it doesnt get as many views.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Islam isn't a race, it's an ideology and 2/3s of its followers and Britain say they wouldn't report someone who was involved with jihadis.

9 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 61

Not approving of an ideology because of its abhorrent beliefs and practices isn't bigotry. No one calls you a bigot for disliking Maoism.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Sorry 'followers in britain'

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 8

Islam is a religion not an ideology, you call it an ideology because you're a racist, you forgot because you're stupid

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 40

Religions are idologies...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Islam is both a religious and political ideology with a doctrine that lays out proper protocols for most aspects of life and government. 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 4

It is not however a race of people.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

Religion isn't a skin color you fucking pillock

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

When I don't agree with someone I just scream RACIST! ....oh shit you beat me to it.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 10

I bet you call yourself an atheist so how would you know?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That seems like the areas you should do the survey, no? Where they are in numbers and ideals are stronger?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

So shall we interview Britain First members to get a general feeling of what all British people think? Fuck no. They don't speak for me.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Please show me

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 6

Every time there's some study about what Muslims think, there's some reason that we shouldn't believe it

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 10

Yes. It's called critical thinking. It's what people who aren't dipshits possess. That's weird, you show no signs of it at all.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

They were pretty selective in which Muslims they asked rather than a cross section of Uk Muslims. This will always give 'headline' results

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Some do, the ones that are against it in the middle east fear death by isis if they speak openly against them.

Look at y'all, a little misunderstanding, some information thrown about, a good resolution, y'all adorable.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Its more common now, but after 9/11 there were muslim communities even in the US who made death threats to those who spoke out against 9/11.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 15

Do you have any articles that support this other than Breitbart or InfoWars?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Unfortunately there isn't much from that long ago, but one notable one I recall was Dr Jasser who went on to help fund the Center for 1/2

Unpopular fact: While the people willing to actually strap on a suicide vest are the fringe, a frighteningly large number of Muslims believe

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

that suicide bombing is justified. Indonesia is the largest muslim-majority country in the world and is a republic with an elected president

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

just like the USA. Only 76% of those polled responded with "Never" to the question "Suicide bombing can ____ be justified against civilian

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I pretend these numbers are true for a quick calculation; indonesia has about 250million people (2013), 76% are 190 million. 19 million!!(1)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Oops missed a digit... anyways, you're gonna act like 190 million people in one nation alone don't matter!? These people are on our side

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

If you will notice, they aren't doing these events in Iran.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

they are doing them in the uk because the attack happened there

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

And terrorism never happens in or from Iran? *rolls eyes*

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

from Iran??

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

The Iranian government funds terrorism. That is a fact.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Here is a good way, stop supporting a religion of hate.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 19

For every "hateful" passage people espouse about Islam, one can easily be found in the bible. Don't feed the machine of ignorance.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

No one is killing people because of the bible!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

The world isn't in a bubble. Time is a continuum. People did it before, they MIGHT do it in the future. Blame the people, not the religion.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No blame both, the religion for telling them to, and the people for doing it.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Islam has problems. Most religions have problems, when it comes to it. However, the way to do it isn't by being dicks to Muslims.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

People are brought up in the faith, they're indoctrinated from birth to their beliefs.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Calling them names or persecuting them isn't going to make them go "you know, I never saw how bad it was before you called me a 'Mudslime'".

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

That creates more division and plays into the narrative of ISIS and other extremists. There's no easy solution, but abusive isn't it.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

They chose to support it

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

The article that brought it to my attention is here https://www.theguardian.com/world/shortcuts/2017/mar/26/muslims-condemn-terrorism-stats

Ah, the inevitable person who thinks Muslim is a race...

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

I didn't say it was a race...I was drawing a comparison the inane "Muslim community", "black community", etc comments that always come up.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The difference is that by definition, Muslims all share a core set of beliefs. The same cannot be said about all people of one race.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Muslim" is a label they keep despite the shitheads using the same label. That's their right, but it isn't unreasonable for them to 2/

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2/3 of British Muslims say they wouldn't report someone they know who'd gotten involved with jihadis.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 36

Yeah I'm gonna need a solid source for that

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 18

This is from a neoconservative right-wing network who use biased information as a base for their posts. They shouldn't be trusted
