I spent a good few seconds wondering how the fuck they lit that place before the lightbulb was invented bc I’d forgotten fire was a thing ?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Imagine how much grain you could store in that thing!

You must gather your party before venturing forth.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was feeling more Myst

3 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Running out of match sticks to show the map!

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Adventure reference?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

More like classic FPS

Classic

Tu-du-tu-du tu-du-tu-dum tu-du-tu-dum

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

There better not be a sliding block puzzle in there...

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Huh...I didn't know I had high-speed claustrophobia until just now.

3 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I can't wait until we can walk through places like this in VR. We have the technology now.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I’d love to see a forest. Who would be first - drone to 3D forest walk-around? Or a 3D fake forest rendered so well it looks real?

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I remember someone recreating a Hiking trail in VRChat, It looked way too good.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Was that a Starbucks?

3 years ago | Likes 59 Dislikes 2

Right across the street is a Starbucks/golf course/Giza Hut combo

3 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

duktAAAAAYp….

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't see an "s" on the end, do you?

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I wish there was one of these for other cool spots like Petra and stuff

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wow. I'm really impressed at how accurate assassin's creed was then. Really cool

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I've been in there! Went as a study abroad course for 12 days in college. Coolest thing I'll probably ever do.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

so does the curse travel through this or no?

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So they can map a pyramide. But my town is too small for Google Streetview?

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

B-but where are the crates that need to be pushed in the right order to gain further access?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's my day gone.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

this the burial chamber of Ramses VI over 1000 years later. rough stonework, beautiful art on everything

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

the King's Chamber is totally unadorned with smooth, stunningly precise stonework despite being much more ancient. there's nothing like it

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But it does not capture the sticky dirty walls, the smell and amount of people and hustlers. I have visited but would not go again.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

BRB going to play AC Origins

3 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

How does that game compare to AC Odyssey?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

All these new ones are great, I’m currently on Valhalla. You really can’t compare them.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Watching this I realised just how accurate they had made it in the game. With some additions or course.

3 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

No no, that ancient/future tech with the weird voices was spot on

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

When Notre Dame burned, I think they used scans that AC had taken of it to help put shit back together in the right spot. Or something.

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yes they did, Ubisoft had probably the most detailed 3D recreation of it.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Neat!

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

It would be great if they did this with all places that aren't suitable for tourist visits

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Something about this tomb makes me feel like it wasn't meant for my eyes to see..

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

It wasn't.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

While I loved actually being inside the pyramids, the convenience of this (and zero cost) means I can now share the experience with my kids.

3 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

They're not going to get cursed though

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

how did you come across such an opportunity?

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Crimes.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Hand money over to the right person on the day and you can get anywhere in Egypt.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Backpacking through Egypt as a university student.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

ah, bakshish. Read about it, never had the balls.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

new Myst game looks nice

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Wowwwwwwwza. This is fuckin' rad AF!

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Boring. Where are all the treasures and undead? All the snake pits? And all the impossible trap mechanisms?

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

And the mummies walking around. Very disappointed.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Imagine how nice it would have looked before everything thing in it was plundered.

3 years ago | Likes 208 Dislikes 1

Tunneled into 1200 years ago, and everything of value carted off.

3 years ago | Likes 68 Dislikes 0

Really probably looted well before then.

3 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

The Great Pyramid is thought to have been empty and bare inside. There is no evidence it was a tomb. Some think it was a power station.

Which is exactly why we can't tell whether or not it was a joke.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

It’s obvious it is a joke, it reflects more on the people that don’t get it than the joker himself.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 7

No, there are people who believe the bedrock limestone reacts with the ground water and turns pyramids into batteries. Not a joke lol.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If this is a joke, I don't get it.

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

Yeah they found evidence of an explosion or something didn't they?

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"They" who?

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

?????‍♂️

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My ass is a better power station. Away with your nonsense

3 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 2

Some people believe in ghosts. Some people are stupid and/or deluded.

3 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 5

Fucking claustrophobia thoughts thinking about being in a rock tomb

3 years ago | Likes 409 Dislikes 2

Same. I just realized this would take my mild claustrophobia to about the size of Jupiter and I would have to be DEALT WITH.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I didn't know I even had mild claustrophobia until I went into one of those tourist mines. Thirty foot of dirt above me was 30 too much

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What happened? Did you have to go back out?

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The place had a dozen kids already so I might not have the skills to man up...but a few deep breaths and I kidded up. But was nervous af

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Good on you, kudos on the newfound courage.

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think about cave divers often like the guy who wedged himself into a space, got caught, and couldn't back out so suffocated. Fear is good

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Ivebeen inside a pyramid. It is surreal how you lose the sense of what is up or down in the tunnels. Very claustrophobic.

3 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Yup. While I'm likely to never have a chance to leave the country, this is something I don't even need to consider anymore.

3 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 1

Dont read Hyperion Cantos

3 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Went there 2012 really excited. Went inside for 20 meters and went out again withe the lovely gift of claustrophobia.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Now consider the ancient Egyptians going in there with only handheld torches

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Could be worse, atleast it's not Kanye's hiphop tomb.

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I’ve been inside. Even worse because you have people going in and people going out, right and cramped until the big sarcophagus chamber.

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Don't ever go caving.

3 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

What a redundant thing to say lmao. Ofc they won't be going caving.

3 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Or cave diving. Even videos of that give me the creeps

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

"Be advised: a common complication for cave divers is loss of orientation, followed by eventual asphyxiation."

3 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Don't watch the movie Sanctum.

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

oh no, the feeling is very much being knee deep in a self proclaimed God's tomb. i actually have an extremely weird story about this

3 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Storytime?

3 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

**Just a quick FYI for anyone (else, besides me) who is prone to asking too many questions at storytime. ?
