Could not tell at the end there, if it was just too hot (friction) or if he got shocked. But an overhead view of the entire track would have been better.

slots cars always been fast

Not sure what the rules with these are... Usually when I see a Video by some dude doing the craziest mods to his cars ( like a V8 with 8x Motors or a Suction Fan at the Bottom 🤣 ) he builds his track with a segment of track that goes up, across two lanes and then back down causing the car to go through all lanes, not just the center one like whats happening here. This also means you have to account for the Up / Down part of the ramp to prevent it from going off track ( hence the Suction Fan )

That initial push he gave the car seemed completely unnecessary.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Okay so how fast are we figuring?

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

it looks like the values on the board are speed-lap-time. so 81 kph max speed and an average lap of ~1.83 seconds.

I don't even understand what's happening here other than a battery powered car going 110mph+

2 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Ma doo gun krub kan nee, mai pang dung nae.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Easy for you to say.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Basically there is a battery powered car going 110mph+

2 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Seems like you completely understood what's happening here

2 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

how fast (scale MPH) was that "car" going?

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

there's a lap clock at the back - the first number might be the speed, presumably in kph

I... ok so I am curious, how would one calculate the actual speed that thing is going, and how much heat buildup caused by the simple friction of the bearings and rubbing along the track walls, and if allowed to continue would it eventually build up so much heat that the batteries in it would ignite? That seems fun but extremely dangerous toy. (Also if it skipped off the track would it become a lethal projectile launched in a random direction?)

2 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

30 Speed.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It has a lap timer, known distance. Only one variable left to calculate

2 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

You don't sound like you have any fun at all in life. The world is not about not getting hurt, it's about healing after you do.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

wheels look like they're plastic discs and not actually rubber. very thin too. Probably not a lot of friction. Just enough to get acceleration and maintain speed but not enough to really heat it up.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I think that last scenario is just a rail gun

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So what...just wait until battery dies? Or try to knock the ridiculously fast thing off the track?

That's what the blue towel is for. Drop that down and snatch the car from it

2 months ago | Likes 56 Dislikes 0

Yeah, but he still got it wrong and made contact with the still spinning wheels. See him drop it and pull his hand away in pain at the very end

I learned at least five new things today, thanks to y'all and OP. I don't know to express my sincere gratitude. The rest of the day had been very busy, with me performing rather boring duties for family and cleaning up other people's messes

I'm always up for a break in my day to see what the Yakuza youth group has going on.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What happened there at the end?

2 months ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

100% he touch something holding a charge and it zapped him. I am unfortunately very familiar with that sound

2 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

I think that it was moving fast enough that catching it stung

2 months ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

He tried to stop something insanely fast with his hand

2 months ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 2

No he used his shirt to stop the car

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hmm. There's an audible crack after he already lifted it from the track and then he drops it. I think it gave him an electric shock.

2 months ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

Probably used the rag to stop the car and then dropped the car because heat from friction.

2 months ago | Likes 67 Dislikes 0

it kinda sounded like he got an eletric shock. Maybe static buildup? Or perhaps he touched a capacitor. I definetly heard somekind of a crack.

2 months ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

I heard the pop too. I think it could have been a battery pop. That setup is just an electromotor spinning a simple drive wheel with what looks like direct draw from the batts. Very simple set up, but also a great way to make batteries pop if the draw on the batteries is too hard (it's basically like shorting the battery out).

2 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Addendum; also, I think when he toweled it, that might have stopped the drive wheel, which would have shorted out the batteries massively because of the fat contacts and "relatively," thick wiring.

2 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They look like 18650 cells, in which case you aren't making the batteries pop without some serious fireworks. If anything in there circuit popped it would have been some sort of protection circuit. I'm inclined to believe the pop was something in the drive line, possibly a gear or other splined drive.
