Still rocking out to all the Metallica music I downloaded from Napster!!

That's the beginning of the show. He's working out the nerves. Amazing how he's been performing live for over 40 years and still gets the jitters.

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That’s not a break, it’s the opening/first song for every Metallica show.

7 months ago | Likes 75 Dislikes 1

Yup. We saw both shows in Tampa in June. Good times...

7 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I’ve only gotten to see Metallica once- the AJFA tour, with Queensrÿche opening (playing Mindcrime).

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Gotta get some fresh air before the concert starts.

Ok that's funny.

7 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I never had the money to see a concert. My dream was to see Weird Al but ya, not happening.

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I finally got to see Weird Al in concert this year for the first time. He's still absolutely worth the investment. Once in a lifetime exp

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ya, it isn't about the investment my life just blows. Cool you got to see him though!

7 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I hope you get the chance friend.

The hammer of justice crushes all on this blistered earth, as the US is trapped under ice. All by order of their Leper Messiah.

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I didn't realize the Cowardly Lion was so metal.

7 months ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 3

He is looking more like Bert Lahr all the time.

The fact that they are over 60 and are still out there pounding out all those old thrash bangers is absolutely astounding. They're not 24 anymore, but fucking hell, it really is impressive to see them still at it.

Ecstasy of Old

7 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

Why doesn't James, the largest Metallica, simply eat the others?

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He'll look way different a few seconds later

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's what I call a silver fox.😚

Farmer Jim going to the market...

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Saw them for the first time in 93, at their first time in Lisboa. Feels like another life.

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Where's the whiskey in the jar ohhh..........?

7 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not during, prior to, you can hear 'ecstasy of gold' they use that as intro music.

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ecstacy of Gold is playing. This is before he goes on stage to start the show.

...

Also, I can listen to approximately 4 seconds of Ecstacy Of Gold before there's a giant adrenaline dump into my system.

Kathy, Tamallaca is coming!

7 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

A true musician and outstanding song

7 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

The best part is when he said, “IT’S METALLICA TIME!!!” and then proceeded to Metallica all over the place

7 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I gather his voice still sounds OK, but holy hannah, huffing on a Cohiba mid-concert sure seems like a shitty thing to do to your vocal cords.

7 months ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 5

Considering it's Extacy of Gold, this is the beginning of the concert.

7 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Thats actually the start of the show

7 months ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

You don't inhale a cigar, at least any sane person doesn't. You just pull the smoke into the palate for flavor and sometimes through the sinuses.

7 months ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

You can tell he inhales a bit, at the end he blows smoke out of his nostrils, more than one could do without inhaling from my experience

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Not true at all. Anyone having undergone a laryngoscopy knows, that the nose is connected to the mouth with ZERO membranes or filters. A laryngoscopy is in fact a long tube with a light and a camera in the tip, entered into the nose, and guided into your throat to make very distinct imaging of your larynx and your esophagus.

7 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yup, so you get jaw cancer instead of lung cancer!

7 months ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 3

Correct, you aren't supposed to inhale but that just keeps it out of you lungs. Your throat is still getting some contact with the smoke rolling around in your mouth.

7 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yes, I've smoked cigars — not many, but enough. Even if Het's not inhaling lung-deep, still seems a really bad call when you're about to use their voice at high volume for 2+ hours. That shit's still getting in your throat/larynx and sinuses (as you, @tzahtman and @GangOfNahr19 said). Exactly where I feel it the next day after a stogie; I wouldn't dream of trying to sing well in that condition.

The long-term effects are a whole other kettle of (bad) fish.

7 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As metal vocalist and previous smoker tho that shit def hits your folds but like. Everyone is different. Alcohol too is a diuretic but a 24 ish oz black tea with a drop of honey and finger of whiskey is the best lube I've found.

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is like an answer to one of those "What is something that sounds classy and sophisticated but is really fucking stupid" questions.

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Looking good

7 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Hell yeah its good to see the old fucker. Goddamn i grew up w them. Justice was my first cassette tape. I was 11 maybe. Black Album pissed me off, i seldom listen to them anymore (first 4 only lol) but I still got love for em. Except Lars he's a bitchass lol.

7 months ago | Likes 83 Dislikes 7

All Metallica is good Metallica.

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Hey I've listened to all of thier new stuff up til today. The new album fuckin rocks dude, no shit. The first 4 albums were just something really special in metal, and music in general. Pure fuckin perfection, especially for the time. The first 4 stand alone. Imho.

7 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm a few years older but I feel the same on every point. I saw them live on the And Justice For All tour with Queensryche opening in '91. It was fantastic.

7 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

The Black album was good for me. It was after that that I turned away from Metallica. They didnt sound like the first 4 albums and I didnt like that.
I got to see them at Buckeye Lake once right after the Black album released. Good concert.

7 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I'm not in the know.. What's happening with Lars?

7 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Maaaan this was a LONG time ago but here's why I say that ... Lars was the impetus behind this Metallica v. Napster, Inc. - Wikipedia https://share.google/cgFTbqTZ4Tyu9xqDB

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Given their last few albums I wasn't expecting much out of seeing them live, but I was recently lucky enough to score a free ticket and they were Fucking Amazing.

The 90’s were the best. I went to so many Festivals and concerts. RHCP, Beck, Pearl Jam, Cypress Hill, Alice in Chains, NOFX, Pennywise, Beastie Boys, Sex Pistols, Fishbone, The Damned, RATM, Tool, The Jesus Lizard, Soundgarden, The Reverend Horton Heat, The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers, Moby, The Cure, The Offspring, China Drum, Snuff…oh my god what happened to the world?

7 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

... Radiohead, Weezer, Greenday, Stone Temple Pilots, Smashing Pumpkins, Dog Eat Dog, Oasis, Blur, Cranberries, Korn, Pantera...

Some will say the Archmarv wasn't there or do not remember. But the Archmarv was and do.

I saw Suicidal Tendencies open for Danzig open for Metallica in like 1993. I crowdsurfed to hit the lights. Now everything hurts.

7 months ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 1

Coincidence? I think not.

7 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's not a coincidence. There's a direct correlation between quantity, duration, and frequency of how hard one parties and the decrepitude of their miserable body in the future.

7 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Saw Queensryche, opened, followed by Soundgarden, and them Metallica in 91.

You are the same age as me, so you can’t be old! Wait, why does my back hurt?
