Funny thing, none of them really seem old to me...

Oct 16, 2023 7:28 PM

Me neither. We're old.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Biden is clearly a better option than Harrison Ford.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Patrick Stewart is 83. He finally looks 70.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Perhaps an unpopular opinion, but it pained me to see him in Picard. He needs to stay home.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I saw Harrison Ford in person last year, he looked pretty old tbh

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

They all seem old to me.

2 years ago | Likes 96 Dislikes 1

They are.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If we're considering felons like Trump, I can vote for Dogg/Stewart 2028

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Harrison Ford showing up in Star wars to fund a third plane crash is not a great example for letting old dudes run the world.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Uhm, the Star Wars sequels are widely regarded as the best movies in the entire IP. Thank you.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Ah the old photoshopped white sign bullshit. I'm tired of the internet.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bidennisnthe democrats palate cleanser before trotting out someone more centrist. Can't shock the voting public too quickly.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

While I agree with the sentiment, it's shopped, poorly at that.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Apparently ageism is alive and well on Imgur.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Yeah, except Idle and Pesci are entertainers whose decisions don't have a significant impact on public policy, foreign relations, climate change, economic stability, and every other aspect of the lives of millions of people. I'll be voting for Biden, but he has absolutely no business staying in office. I would be more convinced if the OOP was promoting Harris more often ahead of the next term, but there's been nothing. It's like these people think they'll live forever.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've seen people point out Google is about to get slapped with a huge online ad antitrust lawsuit in the US and Europe. So that stick and ad revenue might not be around in 6 months, better get people to sign up

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Also totally valid considering we let our TV entertainers run our government on a pretty regular basis because we are so fucking broken as a society.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

thats not a recent photo of harrison ford. he looks his age these days.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Biden is old there's no disputing that fact, we'd all like a younger candidate in the future, but there's no denying that Biden's age and experience is what turned this country around like he has when he started his presidency with a country in the state left by trump and republicans. Give the man his props.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Exactly! I'm tired of reading all this apathy when it comes to voting for him. It's like no one is paying attention to the land mark acts he's doing. His foreign policy alone should have people proud to vote for him....He stood on the picket line, strengthened NATO, got Japan and South Korea to form a alliance, etc..

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It's all hive minded bullcrap, "Oh Biden is soo old"....If they for once looked at what he's accomplished they'd think otherwise but it's the weakest argument they have to make against Biden.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Exactly. And it's not just the opposition, alot of d's have this sort of sigh when talking about him. It's like they don't realize he's doing historic thing and don't know how to rally behind it

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh of course, it's really sad

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And the same age as my dad!

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

and Paul McCartney, and Carole King, and Ian McShane, and Mike Bloomberg

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And they are all too old to be president. The age of retirement should be the limit.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Hate causes aging

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The problem is that you would need to live to be about 200 years old to learn enough how to run a country. But you can learn how to accumulate wealth and political power over a much shorter time frame. And those are completely different things.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Billy Connolly šŸ˜ž

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes, some old guys can rock. Even so, they shouldn't make up a majority of the government and they shouldn't be making decisions where they won't even be around to experience the repercussions. That said, Biden has exceeded my expectations. If he is the nominee for 2024, he has my vote. But FFS, let's continue trying for much younger folk who are also sane and actually care about other humans.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Kurtwood Smith, you say?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Look, the Stones are touring, Ford is making movies and Biden is well kicking ass.... They're all killing it in their fields despite their age.

2 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 3

I’m not going to take anything away from Biden - I’m glad he’s here. But c’mon… gimme a tan suit or something.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

And Scorsese just came out with another movie that might win him more awards.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, and didn’tFord almost land his plane on a taxiway, and also crashed his plane on a golf course?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

And lived....

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

See! It's ok to fail horribly as long as you don't die doing so! Duh!

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

None of those guys are failing miserably especially JB so!....Duh!

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was talking about Harrison Ford. Idk if I'd be able to say crashing a plane is not failing.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Didn't Harrison Ford have to stop flying his plane because of his age causing issues?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yes.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Trump is the same age as Biden.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 9

Trump is 77, Biden is 80. They are of similar age, but Biden is 3 years older

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I would say several more years in maturity.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Biden is a lifetime's worth more mature than Trump.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That is effectively the same age.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Biden is old and so what? He could be dead inside the office and still be better than Trump

2 years ago | Likes 519 Dislikes 11

He continued pretty much all of Trump's policies. Downplay the pandemic, put people in concentration camps for the crime of seeking asylum, increase funding for cops and the military, give out loads of drilling permits, throw money at corporations, and just recently it came out that his administration plans to work on building a border wall.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

He's handled Israel/Gaza well, right?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Weekend at Biden's. A story about 2 guys touring the Whitehouse only to discovered a dead President. Then proceed to pretend he isn't.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Trump is almost as old, and if I had to choose between the two of them health, I would say biden looks healthier.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

His ashes could do a better job in the office than any Republican president.

2 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

tRump Is A Alfa Male !!! - magas.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We could literally have a sandwich as president and it’d be better than Trump

2 years ago | Likes 91 Dislikes 2

Sandwich would have a whole character arc in 4years. Orange is just orange is just orange. ;)

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

All of Imgur could do a better job as president than Trump. It would be weird, but better weird than Trump.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I vote for the sandwich!

2 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

We can trust the sandwich.

Weekend at Biden's

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

That's no too far from the truth at this point.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Trump is the walking definition of addition by subtraction.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Biden could be dead on the outside too and still be better than Trump.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And we'd get President Harris which would be fine by me.

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

Oof.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Biden could have a stroke, be catatonic, inches from deaths door, and I'd still vote for him over that orange clown. That said, I'm not sure I want anyone on that list for president, except maybe Bully Connoly, just to see the press pool try to keep up with the accent.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

He’s only like 2 years older than Trump too

2 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

And in MUCH better shape, despite the "bike fall scandal" *gasp*

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah next time Trump runs, he will be older than Biden was when they complained Biden was too old. But they'll never acknowledge that bit.

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I would vote for a broom to be president before Trump, at least the broom wouldn't be actively dissolving democracy

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

A propped up, Weekend-at-Bernie's dead Trump would be a better president than Trump was when he was in office.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Christopher Walken 2024, could you imagine the press conferences.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Biden is clearly a better option than Trump - but let’s not pretend he’s a young, fit, able leader of the ā€œfree worldā€. His best days are well behind him. He’ll get my vote - but a more palatable turd is still a turd.

2 years ago | Likes 250 Dislikes 27

the ✨AI✨ says that biden is young. the ✨AI✨ does not lie

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Of course he's not young, but he is unquestionably ABLE. He's made an impressive amount of improvement, and the potential for more. He has a real mess to fix after No.45 wrecked everything he touched. "A more palatable turd?" NO President is ever perfect, young or old. As Americans, we must adjust to each, and plan accordingly for the next election. Biden produces good results. That's worth focusing on.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Careful. Nina Turner was crucified for saying the same thing.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

'His best days' of doing what? We want our President to be educated, capable, personable and in tune with the common 'man'. Not to be able to run a marathon or play sports. Implying that age is the most important quality is demeaning to his many accomplishments...

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

He supports better positions than he used to. I think these are his best days. And he's period that old people can change with the times even if they can't change enough to be "perfect"

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I still appreciate how any time he has to speak to 'The Chair' it isn't A Chair, and that he's obviously aware of any difference.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I keep bringing up Lauren Boebert and Madison Cawthorn as examples that youth is not all it's cracked up to be

2 years ago | Likes 94 Dislikes 3

I'm pretty sure they will be douchebags when they are old too...

2 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

With any luck, we won't have to find out.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, the world might end before then...

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, but who would you rather get an hj from, while a bunch of kids are around? Boebert or Biden?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

The kid factor makes this a question with no good answer

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Well it's generally agreed that the more rare something is, the more valuable it is. And I have to assume Biden has given far fewer handjobs, so I'm going with Biden. I'll just close my eyes and think of something patriotic.

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Is there anything more patriotic for an American than a handy from the President of the United States?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oral sex in the oval office?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What do people like you want? I've seen enough debates, interviews, and speeches of Biden to know he's mentally fit. His presidency has been a non-stop weathering the storm of the last president. Beyond that, he's confirming lower court judges, fighting for LGBT, and does some amazing work with moving towards renewable energy. I'd argue he's doing a better job than any other politician could (minus Bernie Sanders).

2 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 3

While there's definitely an issue with politicians insisting on staying in power far longer than they should, age-wise, it's really not a major issue with Biden, and is instead used as a proxy for other, less publicly acceptable complaints by many. The media mostly harps on it because they have a stupid inclination to try and cater to right wing "controversies" even when they clearly aren't anything of substance.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

THIS!!!!!!! Biden is kicking ass as president. He turned out to be a great president but all people talk about is his age and how anything is better than trump, but here's the thing he's doing better than most presidents do

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

I'm hearing a lot of "My vote is for Biden" before we even have the fucking Primary Elections. You guys know you have options in the primary, right?

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 5

Cenk Uygur is the only one of those options worth a damn, and he still wouldn't be half the president Joe Biden is.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Technically, yes. Functionally... not really. If the Democrats ever actually chose someone other than Biden in a primary, it would give Republicans free reign to claim that Biden ran the country so horribly that Dems had to do something about it. They would practically hand the election to the Republicans on a silver platter.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/president-general/ With numbers like this, I gotta wonder what it is you really think you'd be losing by exercising your right to vote for someone who isn't Biden.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Have you actually seen who else is running right now?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not much really. But nothing would be gained either. I don't know if there is a named theorem for this already but I call it the law of large group management. Getting one person to do something is fairly manageable. Getting ten to do it is harder, but doable. Getting 1000+ is basically impossible. It can be mitigated with different things like money, help, etc. But trying to get enough people to vote against an incumbent president in the primary to change who is on the main ticket won't happen

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Im not voting for biden, I'm voting against the current crop of republicans. He's not the worst person for the job, i just want a more pro-labor, pro-climate change action president. I settle for his centrism because every republican is a fucking ghoul.

2 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 3

The thing to remember is that the President isn't so much a leader as a follower. The real power to change shit lies with Congress in the US system. The President can give speeches all he/she wants, but if Congress doesn't pass something, it means squat. Right now, pretty much any bill a Democratic Congress can pass, Biden will sign.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Funny, cause Biden has gotten some serious shit done despite/ with Congress approval. The man leads and because he leads he's accomplished a lot in a few short years.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm not deriding what he's gotten done. But consider what Pelosi got passed through the House in 2021-22 that died in the Senate due to filibustering and Manchin/Sinema, and Biden could've gotten so much more passed. But the problem wasn't Biden, it was the Senate. And now it's the House because the Republicans got control there (and are proceeding to burn the place down, sadly). People fixate on the President, and it's a mistake. Get Biden the laws and he'll sign them.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

But even with "control" of the House and I use the term loosely because they are an inept mess, they have failed to rein Biden in and he has still managed to get stuff done.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm voting for Biden just on his record alone.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

As much of a centrist as he is, his policy is surprisingly progressive and incredibly pro union. But like you, the environment is probably the most important issue in my mind. And unless we get a president like Gore, who will fight tooth and nail on that issue, we are screwed.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I definitely agree, but honestly Biden's Administration has pushed more labor and climate improvements than I expected them to.

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

He's been more of those things than I expected, like pressuring rail companies to get rail workers the sick time they were asking for after preventing them from striking, but my expectations weren't all that high to start with. He's got that boring old white guy vibe that makes him seem more conservative.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Wish we had that option. But for this next election, It has to be Biden. Otherwise the Fascist win and we won't have to worry about elections anymore. We desperately need viable 3rd and 4th, even 5th party candidates.

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Well said

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

The problem with that is that most of this rounds ghouls with definitely be running again in 2028. Biden was meant to be a band-aid.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

1/ Biden got the biggest investment in transitioning to a green economy and fighting climate change ever passed with paper thin majorities in both houses of Congress. Biden’s administration has pumped a gajillion dollars into creating more manufacturing jobs - union jobs - helped the railroad workers get a better deal after everyone chose to believe he ā€œbetrayedā€ them, and stood on a picket line with striking UAW workers recently. I look in vain for the possible candidate who could accomplish

2 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

2/ any more than he has with the same slim margins of support and the same political realities he’s facing. It always seems as if people imagine there’s some fantasy president who could just force things to be better than they are. It makes me wonder if people aren’t wishing for a different leader when what they really want is a different country. I am frickin’ AMAZED at the amount of stuff that old guy & his staff have gotten done in just over 2 years!

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Don’t forget chips and sciences act and negotiating drug prices.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Do you honestly believe that anyone at all could have gotten more progressive legislation passed than Biden has in the past 3 years? In the real world, not fantasy "AOC is every member of the house, senate, and judiciary" world.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes. Bernie or Warren would have sway more voters during the midterm and gotten a bluer congress to work with. Biden is progressive for the approval rating, and that's better than any republican we could have gotten. But he hasn't the best pick for the job at any point in his career.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a huge fan of Warren, that's lunacy. If the progressive vote turned out like that Sanders or Warren would have been the nominee in the first place.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Its a real chicken/egg kinda problem. Need a progressive in office to get progressive votes, but we can get progressive votes until we get a progressive in office.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0
