Thank you Tim Walz, and thank you real military service people. They are there to protect the citizens, not to protect ICE.

A good start. But not enough

I always found it kinda funny seeing someone wearing camo and a hi-vis vest. Like, bro, do you want to be seen or not?

7 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Funny but that's the uniform they were issued.

7 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Now they just need to start shooting the gangs of masked raiders that are killing and kidnapping in the streets.

7 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

i will applaud when they step between the gestapo and the citizens. jury is still out.

7 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

They aren't wearing a bunch of masks like scared little bitches. If you fear revenge for what you're doing on your own soil you're not the good guys

7 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Wow, it turns out if you're NOT a fucking terror squad, you don't need to hide your identity.

7 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Giving people donuts is not protecting them. Tim Walz is being the perfect mark for what’s happing in Minneapolis. These untrained masked terrorists are murdering citizens in the street. The NG should be mobilized to force ICE out. Period. A very clear directive. They leave, or they die. Fucking donuts. Get real.

7 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Cut to ICE now wearing reflective vest so they can disrupt this very thing.

7 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

*so protesters don't confuse them with armed, masked, and dangerous terrorists.

7 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Here's a band-aid for your gunshot wound.

7 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

The MN nat. Guard are known as the RedBulls. These are (mostly) local raised minnesotans. Say 'Hi' and give a smile. They're in a hell of a spot

7 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Correct me if I'm wrong (I'm a foreigner) but the National Guard unit now in Minessota came from Alaska, no?

7 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That is the correct response. Thanks

7 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

This feels like when the troops gave out candy to the little Iraqi kids. The idea being that the kids and maybe their families would see the soldiers as the 'good guys' and not let the insurgents know we were coming so they could set up an ambush.

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

OH MY GODS!!! NOW THE STATE GOV IS KILLING IT'S PEOPLE WITH KINDNESS!!!

7 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Oh the humanity!

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I mean, the lack of a mask should be a giveaway that they aren't ICE... oh, and they aren't actively threatening the protestors. But good that they're still going the extra mile. Also... ICE agents would just be eating all the donuts themselves.

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't get it. Why aren't they shooting and harassing people?

7 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They’re only going to federally buildings and the site of the shooting. Why not at least fact check A LITTLE BIT, before posted dude. Seriously

https://apnews.com/live/minneapolis-ice-shooting-updates-1-24-2026

7 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

They are not there to assist ICE that's what I'm saying.

7 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Dude “assisting local police”… like to quell protests. You’re just spreading misinformation. You literally typed “to protect citizens”.

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Great, now have them go arrest and prosecute the murderous terrorists running rampant in the city.

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How about go raid the federal building that's being occupied by a terrorist organization executing people in the streets?

7 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Or start executing dhs and ice ‘agents’ on sight.

7 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

They’re literally there to protect those buildings. It’s got ZERO to do with helping us. OP is wildly misinformed

7 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Donuts are fun… but what are they actually gonna do

7 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Exactly. Military is for people, not the opposite.

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean, there were vids yesterday of the guys in vests shoving protesters to the ground.

7 months ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 4

Source, please.

7 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Pretty sure those weren't National Guard, I think they were state police. I get what you're saying though, but their uniforms look a bit different. Hopefully the NG doesn't put up with that

7 months ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

You’re right they were state police now that you mention it.

7 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Do you happen to have a link to the video? I saw it and haven't been able to find it again.

7 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

No, I just checked front page, never made it there. Buried in usersub

7 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Thanks for looking. I dug through user sub a bit last night and couldn't find it again.

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Maybe it was AI fake news.

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Greeks bearing gifts…..this is a little to good cop bad cop…..or I’m just paranoid, or am I?

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I agree to be cautious. This is just a jesture to put it out there leaders want change as well.

7 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hey I’m not saying I’d turn down a donut, I’m just saying I’d be mad while eating it

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sounds like having sex while youre still mad at them. ;)

7 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is good and all. But it kinda feels like "the pizza party" at the office type shit lmao

7 months ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 0

They just got there. Let's see what they do

7 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Because it is. Coffee and donuts to placate people while failing to issue arrest warrants for the agents who murdered a man in the street. Feds are not immune to state law and state and local leadership is absolutely failing to rise to the moment.

7 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

$10 says within 2 days there will be reports of ICE wearing these vests to try and slip by

7 months ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

If so, they will stay masked.

7 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Just want to point out that a lot of federal agents/local law enforcement (ice included) are also part of the reserve/national guard. Its basically encouraged so you can get two retirements. So some of the stuff you guys are suggesting is really unrealistic.

Hypothetically if you were part of the guard in Minneapolis and working full time as an ice agent, they could pull you from ice duties and attached you to this.

7 months ago | Likes 119 Dislikes 5

In my country you can only serve in one critical branch. If you get a job in the police you will be removed from the Home Guard.

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That's the reason they have masks on when they are ICE.

7 months ago | Likes 54 Dislikes 1

Maybe *one* of the reasons.

7 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

TJust for clarification's sake, yes you can get two pensions but the time is still the same - it's one or the other and still need 20 years in each.

7 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Who would want to serve alongside such a piece of shit? I mean if you are a decent person that is.

7 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Well that is a good thing. Less ice agents causing terror and more handing out donuts and hot cocoa. I'd call that a win. Imagine being ordered to terrorize people and supress protest then getting pulled off that to go hand out donuts to the same ppl you terrorized and are currently protesting you.

7 months ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

This is certainly a technical truth. Although I would say most ice agents have literal *bottom-of-the-barrel* qualifications. National guard at least requires basic training, while ice is hiring anyone that so much as sneezes on an application.

7 months ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 0

You don't even need to really sneeze on the application in person, they'll Handwave that too.

7 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Makes them easy to infiltrate though...

7 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I wouldn't read too much into it. US soldiers and Marines gave soccer balls, candy, and stuffed animals to kids in Afghanistan and Iraq as part of the Hearts and Minds strategy to diffuse the reality of their occupation. They view everyone in Minnesota as potential insurgents and want you to believe they're on your side. We don't need to be reminded what happened overseas.

7 months ago | Likes 72 Dislikes 14

It's honestly impressive—they've perfected the art of infuriating everyone, everywhere, every day. This isn’t governing anymore; it’s subscription strength, premium-grade Putin tyranny with auto-tune on high, no receipts, no-refund policy, and a side of starving kids and old people with no health care. All while ditching the midterm elections.

7 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

I have friends that were deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan. Sett aside what went down, but they really did care about those kids, and wanted what was best for their community.

7 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Your friends were weapons deployed by the state, their feelings were irrelevant to the harm they facilitated.

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

You have much to learn in life, young one

7 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I really wish that were true.

7 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

If you set aside what actually happened... Sure, individuals usually have good intentions.

7 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It will be something helpful when the Guard starts arresting federal agents for exceeding their authority or using excessive violence.

7 months ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

You don’t want the national guard (army) arresting people. That should be the local police.

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Should be the cops but they aren't. The Guard can arrest people during a state of emergency. ICE has created a state of emergency. Arresting corrupt law enforcement is allowed.

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Trump has been trying since Portland to create a "state of emergency" so he can order US military and/or NG to fight against citizens. There are laws about which can be done, and different interpretations. Not like Trump cares about the law. Then individual soldiers have to decide between "follow orders" and "don't follow an illegal order." The presence of a "threat" (an armed citizen) will affect individual soldier's decisions and actions.

7 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Okay now do something.

Walk with protesters. Defend civilians. Stop and detain the crazed psychopaths that hurt us.

7 months ago | Likes 598 Dislikes 29

They cannot just roam around, that isn't something they can be ordered to do. They are being deployed in the capacity that they CAN be. To put a line between us and them, so protestors can actually stand there vs ICE running them off under threat of violence. They can only act if someone crosses that line. Understand the game that is actually on the table. If ICE tries to gun down someone present with the NG, they will do something, but they cannot intervene directly under normal circumstances.

7 months ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

They are doing something.

Its not guns a blazing vs ICE, but its something and the message is clear

7 months ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 2

Get in Ice way

7 months ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

They would rather appease and placate. It's less dangerous.

7 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

I’d settle for just protect, serve, and mostly obey the law without tresspassing on the civil rights of others. There’s an oath, just follow it.

7 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

>Stop and detain the crazed psychopaths that hurt us.

Yeah, that'd be nice to have happen.

7 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

They are not Police.... Unless specifically directed by the Governor...?
They are by default support providers, as shown.

7 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Detaining everyone with a mask would be the bare minimum i would need to not want to riot.

7 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I think that's the idea. I assume their presence alone ice will be scarce until the national guard go away.

7 months ago | Likes 91 Dislikes 4

Hasn't been the case this weekend. A friend of mine had neighbors disappeared while these national guardsmen were out. They didn't even slow down after the murder.

7 months ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

I'm sure that proud boys and oath keepers who are murdering civilians in the name of immigration will be terrified of the donuts.

7 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 58

I'm not 100% certain, but I am pretty sure it is national guard the comment was referring to, rather than the donuts.

Ya know; actual trained military.

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You realize they are in the military, right? They follow orders.

If you read up on what States can do against the federal govt you’ll see they are severely limited in the actions they can take.

https://www.wired.com/story/why-minnesota-cant-do-more-to-stop-ice/

7 months ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 3

They follow illegal order, perform illegal action, and violate their oath.... but sure

7 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

There comes a point when "im sorry we cant do anymore" is just as worthless and guilty an excuse as "i was only following orders", that point is not ahead of us, its several corpses behind us.

If the edifice of civilisation, the governors, the legislatures, the police, the national guard etc cant do anything, then civilisation is a myth that we all agree to in order to what?.

What does civilisation do for you if you can be murdered on a whim by those more powerful than you and your voice 1/

7 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 5

Means nothing. Under those conditions another word for civilisation could be surrender, servitude, feudalism, slavery.

So either you are one of the privileged who benefits from the veneer of civilisation or you're a coward. The time for half measures and tempered expectations ended when bodies started dropping.

You are either a defender of true civilisation or a lapdog for the perversion of it in which we find ourselves. 2

7 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 4

ehhh

this is kinda wishy washy, the state can overstep as Texas did under abbot and literalyl create an armed militia to interdict ICE

this forces ICE to go to court to get TROs against the state, then the state adjusts and tries something different and repeat. The same federal courts ICE has bene more or less defying - ICE would rely on them for relief. Additionally, a task force of hand selected state police can follow ICE to "Assist them", basically get up their assholes and record them

7 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ask the kids at Kent State

7 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 4

A short project on Kent State in high school helped change me from the good little evangelical conservative I was.

Seeing the horror and pain of the students side by side with smugly written letters to the editor saying that the victims deserved it...

7 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Ask me if I give a fuck after the next murder.

So far it's been a soccer mom and an ICU nurse. Maybe next will be a literal boy scout.

7 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 25

And look at you. So brave. Helping so much. What would they do without your valiant contribution here in the comment section on Imgur? 🫡

7 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 6

In the scenario you're describing I'm not seeing how throwing a tantrum over a small positive in a sea of shit is helpful or meaningful in any way. I understand being pissed off right now, you are not alone, but direct it in a different direction than this.

7 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

They are under orders to do exactly what they’re doing

7 months ago | Likes 139 Dislikes 4

Oath means fuckall in the usa anymore, ttump doesnt follow, congress doeant, military doesnt, but oh yeah the cops definitely should...

7 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 13

Ah yes, the solution to Trump attempting to legalize corruption is... Violating oaths, thus creating more corruption... Right...

7 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Look how well it worked in germany, follow the law while the governement doesnt and you end up with hitler. But sure repeat history again and see if it will be any different.

7 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 6

There is a third option. Uphold oaths and defend the Constitution.

7 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Cool.

I hope to have a soldier delivered snack before I too am murdered by a state sponsored terrorist invading my city. I prefer frappacinos to hot coffee btw.

7 months ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 100

Presence is the first level of force.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Use_of_force_continuum

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Their presence IS the point. They can't legally kick ICE out, but they CAN defend protestors from being killed. Or at least try.

7 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Plus, given how psychotic ICE is, I assume, (hope wrong but...) if ICE kills a state trooper? That'll trigger a national shitstorm.

7 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I don't think you are comprehending how subtle and strong this move was.

He is creating a bond between the national guard and the protestors. He's providing a strong military ally to the protestors..one that is feeding them and not shooting them.

It's a brilliant starting move.

Attacking problems with a sledgehammer (as you seem to be suggesting) is rarely the right course of action. It's sometimes about strategy and making the smart moves instead of the emotional ones.

7 months ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 1

Keep deluding yourself. They are there for crowd control to protect property if the protestors actually decide to do something. But keep on living in your fantasy world where the left is winning somehow. (You're losing)

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 28

Either you're awful at trolling or you are genuinely a moron...either way no one's impressed.

7 months ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

You absolutely understand this. Don't worry about trying to convince a Russian asset. ❤️

7 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Two things. First is they are federally sponsored, second it's like -10 out there a frappechino would just be solid.

7 months ago | Likes 73 Dislikes 3

TalkingSnake is being cheeky. They prefer a soldier delivered donut before Ice kills them.

7 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

I said prefer, not denounce all others in the name of.

7 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 56

Unless you use it as a cold weapon?

7 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

You prefer federally sponsored?

7 months ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 4

YOU go do something. Walz asked you to "create a database of the atrocities against Minnesotans — not just to establish a record for posterity, but to bank evidence for future prosecution." - get on it, fat mouth.

7 months ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 6

Cool.

Pretti did that and was murdered. I expect more from leadership.

7 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 18

because you are a vile coward who expects the world to be handed to them on a plate. YOU. GET. NOTHING. BUT. DOWNVOTES. COWARD.

7 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 9

So an average American? Not seeing anyone else actually take a stand or fight back. Just complaints.

7 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

do what Walz asked you to do. Take photos. Follow them around until they take their masks down to eat or drink. ID these motherfuckers for the Tribunals. Average American.

7 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Right.

I’m the enemy here, well done for yelling at me.

7 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 10

it's achieved self awareness, Jim!

7 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 5

Look at them, not hiding their faces.

7 months ago | Likes 503 Dislikes 1

Almost like they’re not shameful boot sluts.

7 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I would be too. Proud to be as Mr Rodgers said to look for? 'The helpers'

7 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Actual patriots don't need to hide anything

7 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yeah that what you do when you have balls

7 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

And if you ask “who are you” you’ll get a name, rank, and division.

7 months ago | Likes 56 Dislikes 0

Spoken with pride. Not like these ICE 'agents' who will shout anything at you they can BUT their identification.

7 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's because they are proud of the work they are doing.

7 months ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

And so are a lot of mothers!

ICE should have their mums and dads brought in to watch their actions- it may be more effective than anything else at this point….. https://media1.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2lkPTY1YjkxZmJlNGZzY244ZGJqMjd0cDd0dWRhdnV1ZW11cm05aWQzMG8zcnppcWo1MyZlcD12MV9naWZzX3NlYXJjaCZjdD1n/iSH8499O4Vkhj7Do1j/giphy.mp4

You think the people who raised these dicks are any better? I sincerely doubt that in many instances. People with decent raising don’t act like this.

7 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

That kind of hate comes from generational hate. It's taught and passed down.

7 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I wonder about the same thing. My parents, my sister, and I are all very liberal. My brother is a right wing nut job. I would think you’re right for the majority, but there have to be exceptions.

7 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

My parents are staunch conservatives. Have always voted republican. I went to an arts college and my brother is an architect and we are both liberals. Dad had a trade job and drove around all day listening to AM radio - Rush Limbaugh.

7 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I’m guessing the few exceptions there are probably don’t care what their parents think of them, at this point. They would probably deport their own mothers. I wish you were right, though, and there was something to get through to them. I just don’t have much faith.

7 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I dunno. Those sunglasses are suspicious /s

(As someone that has been dealing with snow and ice for years, sunglasses are pretty much necessary to see)

7 months ago | Likes 81 Dislikes 0

Yeah, snow reflects about 75% of the sun that hits it. And unlike the sky on a sunny day where you can look away from the sun, it's diffuse reflection so you can't just "face away"

7 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Northern here…. I was in my late teens before it dawned on me that sunglasses works on all types of bright, not just summer brightness

7 months ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

I love that big arse smile with the sunglasses …
Just knowing they are the good guys here too
