Would be a huge $$ increase (not that I'm doing bad now) but seriously - what kind of person with options relocates to a place as backwards as they're becoming? I wonder if the people there have any idea what the rest of the country thinks of their recent political choices.
I realize half the country agrees with that shit, but not the educated half that has the wherewithal and the drive to relocate there and build things up.

funny enough, the recruiter mentioned in his email, "if relocating to Florida is a deal breaker, I'd understand", to which I replied, "sorry, but you're correct in that Florida is a deal breaker". I have a feeling I'm not the first person they've reached out to, by a long shot. I hope he's hearing this from a lot of candidates, and it gets back to the company hiring.
I feel bad for the company; they've been established in Florida for a long time, with a lot of immovable infrastructure. Hopefully they can do their part to push the political spectrum.

The "florida man" craziness actually came from the "sunshine law" or whatever it was called that allowed complete freedom for journalists to access any records of any crime, whereas many states do not allow this sort of transparency or access to the criminal records. Oh, and talking to people at industry social events, it sounds like this is an industry wide problem. Those of us that are sane will not start calling in bomb threats to kids cancer hospitals to get our point of view across, but we must take a stand somewhere.
