can we get Player 2 armed and into the party?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They really have no choice, there's no dispute that the Trump Whitehouse is for sale, so everyone that wants to play has to pay.

When you order B-movie supervillians from temu

Jeffy gives off huge "We have Lex Luthor at home" vibes. The genuine article is not amused.

Bribery is expected this term

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

While I doubt it will happen, I'd so very much love to see so absolutely few people show up at his inauguration that he can't even begin to spin it as anything but a disastrously poor showing. Sadly, I'm sure there will still it'll be enough MAGAts there to soothe his fragile ego.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Eh, his previous inauguration had a pathetic turnout, and he STILL claims he had the highest turnout ever, of all time.

Zuckerberg's been evil from the git-go and he's only getting worse, filling the top ranks of Arsebook with Republican stooges and Project 2025 ideologues. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joel_Kaplan https://newr">l_Kaplan">https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joel_Kaplan https://newrepublic.com/post/185306/project-2025-dustin-carmack-meta

Luigi!

Calling it the "Evil Billionaire Club" almost dignifies them almost akin to calling them "super villains".
I prefer to think of them as sniveling cowards who folded to new protection racket in town before they even sent a couple of rough looking lads around to do the "nice place you have here" song and dance routine.

Tag as politics please. I’m getting weary and think I need Imgur to be my only escape from all of it.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

The irony? That those that are using the Down Arrow seem to be missing the irony of the title. Or, there are minions about..

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Some might downvote because it has no 'politics' tag.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I had a conversation about that earlier. If the only reason they Downvote is because of a lack of Tags, then there are other issues at play. I certainly am not going to force someone to add or delete a tag. I suspect those DV'ers believe they have that power.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't know what those people might believe but I think the concept "I like it - I upvote. I don't like it - I downvote" is often applied without thinking about if it will actually do something. (Maybe it's similar to cursing other drivers on the road despite they can't hear you.)
I too wouldn't downvote for that reason but instead ask them to add the tags in the future and explain why they are important. That is more likely to change something.

Who ever thought oligarchs would help pay for a fascistic gala?

inauguration funds sounds a whole lot like just giving him money. with the probable expectation of future favors in return. sort of like buying.

Some argue it was a mistake to let cephalopods into society. I admit it is troubling to see so many prominent bad apples.

I resent that comparison.

It's we who are the invertebrates. Rich men treat our country like a dumpster and we remain inert no matter how bad it gets.

Bet you they all donated to Harris/Biden campaigns too. These guys don't care who is in charge as long as whomever is didn't screw with them. Don't forget, Republicans spent the last 4 years trying to get Meta on something. Now they'll ignore all the bad it does.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Zuckerberg? Possibly. Bezos? No. In fact big controversy at the Washington Post where a bunch of people quit because Bezos himself wouldn't let the paper endorse Harris, oh I mean "endorse either candidate".

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

That doesn't mean he personally didn't contribute money to her campaign. All those non-endorsements came late, when it looked like Trump had a good shot at winning and these guys were afraid Trump literally would come after the media.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm just saying the whole "This rich person donated to.." or "This company donated to..." argument is silly because they almost all always donate to both sides.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

America chose oligarchy.

None of this is surprising.

2 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 2

An oligarchy would be an improvement. We're about to find out what happens when the US becomes a Kakistocracy.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, and an oligarchy it's been for a while. These three donate to every president's electoral fund, no matter who they are. It's legal palm-greasing - they want the president elect to like them.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I can't imagine being that rich and yet so craven.

2 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

When we say these people have so much money, they can afford to throw it away, THIS is what we mean. They are throwing their money into a dumpster. A dumpster that is going to set itself on fire.

What even IS an "inauguration fund"? What's it for? The President-Elect just has to show up, lie out of his upper ass - uh, I mean "swear in" - and the rest is pro forma optics.

Do these people not have a better lie to cover up "we're paying tribute to stay his wrath for a few months"?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You get that rich in the first place by being so craven.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

The US is now openly gearing up for a war with China around 2027.

Yet this guy invites him to the inauguration like they are best friends and gets snubbed.

Inauguration? Oh, you mean the unregulated slush fund.

2 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

You guys know he's going to be in charge of the 250 year birthday party for America and what a shit show parade that's going to be

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I also don't get what in the holy hell of money laundering is going on here

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The US is finally getting a king.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

And one so old you can only hope it won’t be long…who am I kidding. If he dies there’s now a thousand to take his place. America is fooked for as long as I have left me thinks. Which means is north of the border might well be fooked too.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The rest of the world too "too". Who ordered 750 military bases in 80 countries?

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

It’s a bribery pot, last time he had an enormous fund and his inauguration was D-tier dogshit. Three guesses where the money went. We really need to be just less surprised this time around.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Gaetz is invited, so probably

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

We are about to see 4 years of the most blatant and unapologetic corruption in American history. I won't be surprised if assassinations become a weekly occurrence.

2 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Sounds nothing like him. You have to write random 1 word full stops. Sad. Also if you're 1/4 through there's a stacking 25% chance that you fk it up and forget where you are.

All must pay tribute if they wish to continue ruling their fiefdoms. (Seriously, when did we regress to this sort of medieval shit?)

2 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

Regress implies you had a time where you didn’t. (Technically when you were part of the empire you actually didn’t pay tribute for the protection against pirates or your fair share in the war you started and supplied the enemy…. source: https://www.thebrickchronicle.com/revolution )

Watch how Trump voters will be convinced that they and the country are doing better when billionaires enrich themselves under Trump.

We'll be paying higher prices because of tariffs, social security will be put at risk, less spent on social spending to help the working class and poor. Grocery prices will continue to rise as always.

But Trump will blow his horn every time stock market goes up and convince trailer park living maga that *they are doing better.

2 years ago | Likes 218 Dislikes 3

Trump probably would do well during his term, his general policies are actually pretty decent for the short term from an American perepective, but long term he's basically driving off the cliff.

Problem is that for most average people, all they will process is "during Trump my bread was cheaper". His Tarriffs last time took years before the industry started to feel it and by then it was someone else's mess to clean whilst he boasted about all the $$$ he made.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

Hey people who have no stake in the stock market, it's doing great!

I saw a car in the handicap spot festooned with tRump stickers. These MFers have no idea that the Camps will be ADA compliant...

So the rich getting richer and the poor well ..... kind of reminds me of some other countries our there .... I never expected it could happen to the US! I may be a hopeful naïve.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah…going to be soooo much worse than the last four years. That’s the magic of DJT. He doesn’t actually DO anything…but talks about things so loudly that people THINK he does. His #1 goal each day is to be at the top of your news feed. You don’t get there by doing the daily slog of running the government. You get there by tweeting unhinged things at 2am. Name something he did last time. SJC doesn’t count…that was Mitch Mcconnel and RGB’s doing.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The stock market is only "the economy" for the top 1-10%. Not the rest of us.

Meta is being flooded with the worst right wing ads right now. Like they just want conflict in the comments

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Putin's propaganda machine has won the cold war. It is astounding how Russian propaganda has seeped into every aspect of our lives, but Americans are too dumb to notice. Fox news has the average American voter so enthralled that they will literally vote for a felon who has too many character flaws to list. It's also an age old Republican tactic to fuck everything up and still blame the Dems.
I wish I lived in any other country.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He constantly says, "We were doing much better before." But what he means by "we" is... himself. He was doing much better before. But his base is stupid enough to think he actually includes them in that "we."

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When canvassing for Hariss, I encountered that exact conversation. "If they tax the rich bosses, then the middle class workers get paid less."

2 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

That’s what their rich boss told them

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Has that ever been true? I hear that noise a lot, but haven't been able to find a time period that backs up their fear.
I did find this though: https://equitablegrowth.org/six-years-later-more-evidence-shows-the-tax-cuts-and-jobs-act-benefits-u-s-business-owners-and-executives-not-average-workers/

Social security is going bye bye, but probably not through a straight up repeal. They'll do something more or less equivalent, but somewhat sneakier to prevent an uproar.

2 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

Also I really hope all of the rumblings about another massive stock market crash come to pass in the coming year.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

There's a push to fund with stock market. An even riskier move would be to base it on crypto. The crypto crowd wants to bailed out by the government buying up and backing their sliding value.
