I'm from the US. We do not routinely vaccinate for it nowadays. The trouble for us is, birds contaminate the cow's feed, the cows contract TB from the birds. Humans contract TB from the unpasteurized milk. The birds and cows are asymptomatic for TB, but humans do not fare well. Anyhow, I don't recommend raw milk as there are other illnesses you can contract as well!

In Denmark we pasteurize milk, but it still only has a shelf life of about a week in the fridge. And I don't drink milk in other countries because it tastes so much worse

Milk in many places has the 7 day shelf life. UHT milk, which has been pasteurized at a higher temperature, is shelf stable for 3-6 months. Pasteurization heat does affect the flavor profile. Very noticeable between UHT and normal Pasteurization.

Medical science says that you should heat something to kill biological contaminants (which no matter the sterilization of the equiment can also just come from the cows being sick making it a good idea to sterilize the product itself). The taste, however, may be better. This is because store shelf pasteurized milk is a combination of milk from many cows consuming an array of diets, whereas raw milk is more often from a smaller set of cows on a specific diet (e.g. grass fed)

My mother is of the boomers, and she has fond memories of drinking raw milk and cream, on a farm. Many of the magas are of that age, and they remember the "good 'ole days" from when they were kids. Keep in mind, they had a child's understanding of the time, and so they look back at everything with rose-colored glasses. They figure because they didn't get sick then, it must be fine now, and they remember how good it tasted. It's all selfish nostalgia to the point of belligerence.

I also remember that when I was a kid we used to fetch fresh milk from a neighbouring farmer in our large can and I never heard of anyone falling ill, so I genuinely wonder if the risk could be much lower when you get the fresh milk directly from farmer Joe who takes care of his few cows and knows what he's doing in contrast to letting everyone ship around raw milk in whatever condition from whatever source, or if people also did fall ill back then and we were just lucky.

Think of raw milk like a petri-dish perfectly designed to grow bacteria, its basically a 20x growth multiplier, in the past you would order milk and it would be delivered the next day, probably within 24 hours. Cold storage made is last ~3 days , pasteur upped that to 10. 1/?

It’s just a claim from personal experience. I was told it was easier to digest for lactose intolerant individuals, so I tried it and it worked. I didn’t shit my pants or even feel stomach pain. Milk from a healthy cow has no health risks. Zero. It doesn’t come out with tuberculosis or some shit. It gets contaminated just like pasteurized milk can after the pasteurization process.

Prior to pasteurization, milk was a common source of the bacteria that cause tuberculosis, Q fever, diphtheria, severe streptococcal infections, typhoid fever, and other foodborne illnesses.
