I agree with her and I'm happy she won, but legislation alone will not fix the damage done by Republicans. Biden passed legislation that would have made a huge difference for climate. Trump clawed it back and destroyed it day one, with executive orders SCOTUS would never have let stand if they weren't as corrupt as he is. They will never allow legislation to fix anything.

Yep, that is exactly how I feel about it. We aren't the only ones who did jackshit or the bare minimum either. Europe did better but it was still the bare minimum of better. So now we get to fry. Despite knowing about this bullshit since before I was born.

And the worst part of all of this, to me anyway, is that a large number of citizens genuinely don't believe it's real. We managed to fix the hole in the ozone layer, but if that problem had been found during this era, we would have made the hole bigger. Every single person on this planet is fucked if we don't decide our lives and our world are worth more than approx 650 specific people's wallets.

I'm so glad Milat Kiros won the primary. She's not in my district but it's a step toward telling the DNC that they're not doing enough and their candidates need to be better if they want to win.

That's the whole point of primaries. Signal to the bosses, hey, we need change. People complain that the establishment dems are terrible, and yet they don't care since they kept winning. Very much like Ted Cruz, everyone says they hate him, yet he wins every time. At least we are finally primarying DINOs and blue dog dems.

I am not sure if this is true, but the Chinese have created an underwater data center that runs on wind power. It uses the surrounding water to cool the data center. Yeah, directly heating the oceans is just removing the middle-man of heating up the atmosphere first - it surely works for a small amount of underwater data centers to have "no" impact, but the thermal energy still stays in the global system.

I am trying to look at the Chinese underwater data center as a better idea because they are not using obscene amounts of potable drinking water for AI to make fake nudes of celebrities. It is also stated that they are using much smaller amounts of energy.

We had a better understanding of service and sacrifice in our country back when, when the members in office were mostly or largely full of people who had served in some capacity during WW2 what did we see? They served again. We lost that, the mere idea of sacrificing for another American is a weakness now. Service is about getting, not giving these days. We're in an era, thanks to MAGA(teaparty before), in which integrity/nuance/sacrifice/duty... are all bad words. I live just north of her district. She is 100% going to win the general election. Her district is Denver which is the deepest blue area of Colorado.

She has not won yet. It is very important that people in her district still show up to the polls and vote. If they dont, then the republicans will take the seat instead.

I live here. People definitely show up at elections in this area especially this year because we are electing a new governor and the Republican candidate is a big time wing nut. Look up Victor Marx. Voter turnout is not going to be a problem.

I am just not a fan of people saying it's a garauntee, and voting isn't an issue. That's how you end up with republicans on your local school board in a fairly left leaning district like mine. We had horrible turnout due to kamalas' election run, and for some reason, people thought not voting would only affect the federal election. So now we are banning Trans supportive books and issuing rules like boys can't have girl hair.
I just always push people to vote because not voting has consequences.
