Except for the devastating economic impact, what's the difference between 77 and 77 million? If 77 people were threatening the existence of 8,000 people, would it be self-defense to kill them? If 7 threatened 800, same question. What about 1 threatening 80. Does morality scale?

I don't think killing our way to utopia is possible, especially if the qualifier for the death penalty is who someone voted for. But it seems you disagree. How many people are you willing to kill to make your "perfect society"?

Civility Politics is reductive tone policing at best and serves to benefit the oppressing party at worst.

It's not tone policing to point out that "Society would be great if I could kill all the bad people" is not a political position that fights oppression. If you think like that, you aren't a progressive.

It really isn't, but another commenter on here has already wished for my death twice so I feel pretty confident in my assertion that putting a progressive veneer on bloodlust doesn't improve the bloodlust meaningfully.
