I so couldnt do that! I’m funny about my food/drink. I know people touch it to make it & that’s fine, but then after it’s been given to me I can’t have it touched again. If someone put their fingers on/in it after I have it then I can’t eat/drink it & will bin it. I think it’s the gross thought of what’s on their hands, especially underneath their nails… more from whatever orifices they’ve rummaged in. Nose is just as distasteful as their nether regions!
If someone walks in on you doing something shameful, make eye contact and finish what you were doing so they didn't catch you, you caught them watching.
This movie was so good. Really prompted some great discussions with friends and family. I recommend it a lot. ‘Promising Young Woman’ - absolutely worth the watch
Doot. Note to myself: actually follow up, this is an assignment you gave to yourself for pleasure/learning. Love you…. byeee. Also quit drinking. (Sorry to comment bystanders; trying everything!)
She is married to the singer from Mumford and Sons. They were both famous when they met. Then they realized that they had been PEN PALS when they were children! Upon realizing this, they fell in love right away and are still together, I assume.
As much as I wanna agree with you, by law, best we can probably do is accessory. His character was 100% a scumbag though and that movie still makes me rage
I fully understand wanting to judge someone for inaction, but I think its worth making sure that people who actualy rape are held in even more contempt than someone who watches. Also, I havent seen the movie, but in general not all people witnessing a rape are the same, some may casually not give a fuck while others are powerless. They shouldnt all automatically be lumped in with an actual rapist.
My memory is a bit vague *SPOILER ALERT* but did she go out with shitty men just to fuck them up but not like a good way but more like Dexter way? And this guy was a creepy mofo that she had bigger plans with but failed terribly?
Ok, so I did remember the correct movie from that title, I just didn't remember that it was her in it. Never actually seen it, and given the synopses, I think I made the right choice. I would likely find it depressing.
Yes and no. A close friend of hers was assaulted when they were in college. The friend never recovered and killed herself. This woman goes out of her way to attract shitty men and she makes them pay for that behavior, for example not taking no for an answer or taking advantage of a drunk woman. Bo Burnhamas character is a guy who was involved in the assault of the friend. She didnt know this until she came across a video of the assault and he was there, not engaging but not stopping it.
She finds out that one of the men who did do the assault was getting married and Burnhams char was invited to the party. She goes to the bachelor party as a stripper, and basically murders several of those who were involved and she dies as well.
And then in the last scene Bo Burnham faces off against Hitler and bellows "Hey, Hitler!" then turns and looks square into the camera and says "how about ya CONCENTRATE on this" and then Bo uppercuts him to the moon. Camera pans upwards as Hitler flies into outer space, disappearing into a spec in the sky, then explodes into fireworks shaped like a Star of David. Then Bo turns back to the camera and says "Concentrate. Get it? It's like a pun." Then all the rest of the Nazis explode. fin.
I saw this movie before knowing who Bo was, now that ive heard all his songs its weird (good weird) seeing him on screen. A whole song about the chicken crossing the road, beautiful.
It's very compelling, but it's a pretty dark comedy. The context for this scene is that these two people have a history in college, and he's apologizing for acting like a piece of shit back then, hence the "you can spit in my coffee if you want, I deserve that."
It was a really good film but it was the ending that really got under the skin and stuck with you afterwards. A happy ending would have done the whole film and its themes a disservice.

Good movie with some great scenes - namely, with Alfred Molina as the lawyer, with the college Dean (?) and the ending.

SUCH a great movie. Fun fact, the woman who wrote and directed it is Emerand Fennel, who played Midge in the Barbie movie (among other things).
