That's a really nice picture. Looks like it needs a little restoration though.

At least 3 people in this photo are whacked out of their gourds.

I wonder what Scotty would have thought of the early 2020s trend of extremely over-engineered and expensive custom keyboards?

Probably would have still called them quaint.

IMDB: "When Sulu accidentally turns on the windshield wipers of the helicopter, the wipers were broken so a grip had to move the wipers manually. Look closely and you can see his finger holding on to the blade as it moves back and forth."

That's bullsh... *looks closely* what the fuck.

Aaaaah oh no i can never unsee that! Great, now the movie where future space sailors go back in time to knock out punks and steal whales to bring back to the future to talk to aliens seems totally unrealistic. Childhood ruined!

Do you think any of these people know where the nuclear wessels are?

i heard a radio show how star trek actually became a tv show. the original people involved hated racism, the intention was to be the first show with multiracial cast but they hid that from the suits they pitched star trek, the only way they could get funding. once funding/authorization secured the developers hid what they were doing until it was too late to cancel show. the corporate christian racists did cancel the show after 3 seasons. i do not believe the Nielsen ratings were low,

the corps/christians/conservatives wanted to get the "nggers" "chinks" off the air. remember, the entire south at the time still had colored only bathrooms, drinking fountains... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirk_and_Uhura%27s_kiss

Wow. They really do hide Doohan's right hand from view in every shot.

It's visible in Trouble with Tribbles and ST 5: The Final Frontier

Oh wow I looked this up. I had no idea this was a thing!

Captain at the table, the reference understood

That's something he always insisted on, because he knew a lot of children watched and he didn't want to worry them. Also he didn't want to imply that Scotty was such a bad mechanic that he'd lost a finger on the job!

Or... The Klingons were so terrified by Scotty's miracle like engineering, they thought that if they took one of his fingers, it might cripple the great flagship Enterprise. But they were wrong

That computer scene in ‘Voyage Home’ is a masterclass in subtly concealing James Doohan’s right hand in such a way that it feels completely natural and never distracts the viewer.

Can't work out if you're being sarcastic? I've seen this film maybe four times, starting from a very young age, and I had to look up what's "wrong" with his hand to even notice the missing finger when he picks up the mouse to use it as a microphone. To me it's only super obvious if you KNOW he's missing a finger.

Not being sarcastic at all.

The Voyage Home came out right as I was falling in love with cinematography, and that scene still gets me. Knowing Doohan was missing a finger makes it even more impressive: the stance, camera angles, props, and blocking all work to keep it hidden without pulling you out.

They even used a hand double since the missing finger was never part of Star Trek canon, but that computer scene is such a simple example of movie magic it deserves to be highlighted in my opinion.

Hmmm....it's obviously from the launch of the motion picture. OG cast ages are about right. Lot of effort with prompts (if AI) to get it right

Occam's razor applies.

It's from Star Trek 3, The Search for Spock. There's nothing suspect about it unless you're making some sort of weird joke lol

Could also be from Voyage Home. Since Robin Curtis does appear early in the film on Vulcan before the Bounty leaves for Earth? The guy to the upper right does kinda look like the Bus Punk from this scene --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zf5iwGZNY_Q
