That's not regular Woodford y'all. It's part of Master's Collection, an upscale series.
Stumpkiller
I'm retired and Jim Beam (white label) is my anti-brain weapon of choice, but for a treat I keep Evan Williams B-in-B on hand at all times.
candyeasystuffins127001
As a Kentuckian I can confirm. Good stuff.
kylepayton1360
I like basil Hayden’s. Just ice
Draconiclyyours
My folks got me a bottle of BH this past Xmas. It’s quite good, but I still prefer Knob Creek, myself.
TheMeatWhisperer
Screw the Woodford, the Pinkie's Batch right behind it is the good shit.

The best I’ve had is Breckinridge Brewery Bourbon.
Raleighroc
Bob Dylan has a Bourbon bar about to open in Louisville

I usually buy Buffalo Trace, but I’ve heard this stuff is pretty good.👍🏽

That's my go-to bourbon. Tasty!
Tramalama
Mine too. Nice flavor, plenty smooth for a daily.
MadeYouLookAgain
A $300 bottle is your go to?
No, the regular Woodford Reserve is my go-to.
So, then not this one….
I didn't look at the bottle closely enough. Now I am my mother, who regularly buys "light" cheese because she doesn't read the label. Happy?
No. I’d say I’m disappointed though. Like your mother.
shanasphone350
OK Bourbon, not greatest, but good
DrkBluePenguin
Anyone have suggestions on what to try? I primarily drink Makers Mark or Larceny.
slendfung
Try something not from kentucky. Check out what’s being made in your state.
bourbonist
While I honor you're right to say this, disagree completely. Stick to Kentucky. Avoid northeast US at all cost.
KY distilleries are reliable donors to McConnell and Paul. They can fuck off.
Larceny Barrell proof C922 is still around just have to hunt for it ECBP a122 or b522 .For the price Sazerac rye or bluenote unfiltered.
If you like Makers, try Knob Creek, esp. the small batch stuff. I also like Basil Hayden (super smooth)
munchman495
I save the Woodford and Bullitt for 'over ice with a splash of water'. I use cheaper mid range bourbons for mixing...
Bulitt and it’s anti gay agenda can go fuck off. Google it.
Ah, shit! Another product I can't abide buying... I used to love Stoffer's Stuffed Peppers too...
RunsWithScizrs
Bartender here. I took it off our liquor order after reading about it.
The company I used to work for did too despite my owner’s go to shot being bulleit rye for years.

I'm not really a bourbon guy, but woodford is fuckin smooth. I like it.

A solid choice. Not absolute top shelf but regarded as a higher end mainstream bourdon.
This is not ur standard Woodford. I haven't pulled the trigger on this due to it's $200 price tag in my market.
Isthe4thtimethecharm
One of my favorites.
schizznatt
I love it.
possumattack
Very decent grocery store brand. Won't impress anyone but won't disappoint either.
Looks like it’s ~$250-$319 a bottle so that’s impressive in its own way.
Theory89
Yeah I think he's thinking of their 12 year which is a midshelf bourbon. Very similar if not identical bottle.
Oops, didn't notice this was a special bottle. My bad y'all. I was thinking of their standard stuff.
UselessIgnacio
It has masters collection on the bottle. It's the top shelf from the brand.
Fine, you got me. But that wasn't called out on the title, so ya know, opportunity for less ambiguity in the futures.
polarbearbaby
I didn’t love it AT ALL & hm gave the bottle away after 3 shots. I quite enjoy Knob Creek Smoked Maple, though. Dessert in a glass.
There's a Tennessee coffee whiskey that is absolutely delicious but it always messes with my palate.
b1b1b1b1
Knob single barrel for me.
MonsieurBon
hehe, knob
DeepThought42
he said knob … boobies!!!
I love Woodford!
Its332amAndMyDogNeedsAWalk
It’s good. Fairly smooth and a bit sweet. Love it for Old Fashioned drinks
JackieTreehornProductions
That’s a waste for a cocktail. Expensive bourbon should be neat or one the rocks. Just use beam or bulleit if you’re making cocktails.
nero4ty2
Beam is my go to for ricks, it doesn’t bring anything to a cocktail, michters or makers in a cocktail with good ingredients are great
I was speaking more of the brand than the age, but if I spend money on something, it’s mine to waste. Better ingredients make better drinks
Justadude101010103000
These people don't want to know what goes into my drinks. :) I live by your last sentence. I take cocktails seriously.
tReasonoustRump
Damn. Is using an 18 year bourbon a normal thing or is it frowned upon?
frondy
an Old Fashioned is a whiskey forward cocktail so I am fine with using nice spirits in them.
Drink what you like how you like it
I wasn’t speaking of the 18 year old stuff here. I dunno if it’s normal, but if I spend money on something, I’m gonna do what I want with it
It looks like I’m a dumb dumb. It says batch 18 if you zoom in. Not 18 year.
