The technique consists in taking several videos with my iNova PLB Cx camera mounted on a Maksutov 150/1800mm telescope. Due to the small sensor of the camera, I only see a little part of the Moon, that's why I take several videos to cover the whole Moon. I have then extracted snapshots from the videos, aligned/stacked the 5% best quality frames, and have finally merged all the images to made this picture of the Moon.

All my work is on my Instagram : https://www.instagram.com/astronophilos Every following means a lot, thank you :)

PS: Stars have been observed on another part of the sky and added in processing.

Moon's haunted.

This may be a silly question, are those colours accurate and just enhanced?

My guess is since it's a composite the light was best at certain angles/times. Resulting in a shift where those details had ideal lighting.

Do you reuse the same moon data for a lot of the photos? Looks like different composites of the same shot.

Do you have some software that selects the best frames, how does that work? Do you film it like scan lines?

@OP may I use this picture to get a tattoo? I've always wanted a moon tattoo ever since my dad "gave" me the moon as a very small child

Unfortunately, the moon is too large and too far away to be easily stolen.

Ok this has been bothering me. 1) Is that Hugh Jackman and 2) What’s the source?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The fountain!

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm not sure actually

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0
