Fun facts about copperheads: they’re one of the few venomous snakes aggressive enough to chase non-prey animals if they feel threatened. They will pursue you. Steve “the fucking Crocodile Hunter” Irwin wouldn’t mess with them. Another fun fact: when I was 19 I flipped over a trash can lid in my front yard and got bitten by the copperhead hiding underneath. (Which was then killed by a barn cat) I had to go to the hospital overnight. When I got home my house had caught fire! That was a bad week.

Yeah. Snakes are a cats natural prey. Cats rarely get bit and are generally resistant to the venom if they do. This cat in particular, George the 1st (titled posthumously as I have a new cat named George now), lived to be 20.

Nah, you'll maybe lose a foot if you don't get treated and the copperhead was hungry, but more likely you'll fully recover, possibly after a hospital stay. (Source: I was the first person in my home state in over a decade to be hospitalized for a copperhead bite)
