Went through 3 days w/o power in freezing temps in TX when it happened. Got a reality check of how easy it is for folks to freeze to death. Your body goes into hibernation mode. You just want to sleep all the time. You don't eat. Your body's just burning calories to stay warm. I was unemployed at the time. Wife and I would wake up w/ 3 layers of clothes and blankets + dog/cat to keep warm. I'd see her off. Then lay on couch to "rest" and warm up w/ dog/cat. Then I'd wake up and she was home. 1/
That was my routine for 3 days. Just slept the time away. Once you're snuggled some place, you dont' want to move or get up, b/c you'll get cold. Dog and cat slept with me all day, and slept with us all night. They weren't eating much either. It was crazy how easy it was to just slip into sleep and lose hours at a time./
In the UK, the Tories won in 2019 by running as the party for change. They've been in power since 2009... The gammon will believe anything if it lets them keep hating brown people.
Yes. Mission for just a few flights. So well engineered it went 72 flights. Had a hard landing n clipped sand dune, breaking the carbon fiber blade off. So now it sits, grounded forever. On Mars.
It was an experimental craft as a part of the Perserverance mission. It was built with off the shelf parts and had 72 autonomous flights before it could no longer operate.
I've heard they wanted to get a minimum of five flights, but were building for it to be able to handle a fair bit more. 72 is still crazy impressive though!
Ingenuity suffered damage to its rotors during a flight on Jan. 18 as it made a landing on a featureless, "bland" patch of sandy Martian landscape. The helicopter usually makes use of landscape features such as rocks to help it navigate, but its 72nd flight found the drone without visual cues.

Don’t try to teach a pig to write. It wastes your time and annoys the pig.

More to the point; they cause the problems.

The only thing they've fixed is the district map.

They ‘ARE’ what’s broken in Texas.

Every year for the last 27 years what was the next step for the brightest new Texan graduates?

There's a helicopter on Mars?

Yes. It did quite a few flights (more than planned), but on its last flight it suffered propeller damage and is no longer flight capable.

Yeah it just broke.

Yes. I can't remember how many flights it has made, but it has been dozens. Amazing videos.

Ingenuity. Most of its parts are off the shelf. Unfortunately, after 3 years of flying autonomously it crashed recently. still communicating

And I think it was only intended to do maybe ten? Some impressive engineering

Even more impressive, it was only spec'd to do *five*! Ingenuity was a phenomenal success, and also really fucking cool.
Exyr
There was but it broke do to the fact that they were in such a desolate area the program couldn't tell up from down.

Source? Because mine doesn’t mention such. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ingenuity_(helicopter)
