I almost had that. Wife and I both had good jobs when she got pregnant. She actually was making more than me at the time, but my health insurance was way better and that sealed the deal. I was totally down for the stay-at-home-dad job.

I'm a home maker for about three months or if the year my husband likes it when I go to work over the summer because it gets me out of the house. I try I do have some physical limitations were I can't do a while lot but it is nice to have a semi clean home for those three months

I was forced to retire extremely early due to disability, and the kids are both out of the nest. After my wonderful wife helped me through the first couple of years of depression, I am now loving the job of keeping the house for her. Don't give up the dream!

A few years back I had a couple years off work due to a spine injury. Could barely walk, constant pain, spasms, woke up frequently every time I tried to sleep due to muscle cramps...but didn't have to go to work. It was the best!

I'm a stay at home mom with 2 teenagers. They don't need me much anymore, and I love it. People ask if I will go back to work: why would I? My husband's job supports us fine, he would do that job even if we won millions in the lottery tomorrow, because being an engineer isn't just a job to him: it gives him purpose & a sense of identity. So why would I sell chunks of my life (time) for money if it's not necessary? I write, I clean, I read, I run errands, I'm not stressed. It's great.

I am not a woman cut out for an office job or any of that stuff. I taught Kindergarten 'til we had our daughter, then I chose to stay home with her and take care of the household. She's grown now, but I don't have any interest or need for a paying job. Taking care of the home ain't glamorous, but it's important to me and I'm very grateful to have a life where I can cook from scratch for my people every day and take care of the household maintenance and all.

Achtually, women staying at home was only a thing for a relatively short time. Before that, everybody in the family would work, mostly in the fields or in workshops. Only nobles wouldn't work.
