So, why is 38 yellow in the top one, but 37 in the bottom is bright red? And 40 is basic orange in the top pic, but apocalyptic red in the bottom one? If you adjust the colors in the bottom pic to be on the same scale as the top, the maps are basically the same. Still terrible, but also still misleading.

Scientists have been telling about climate change since I was a kid and I'm 50. We did fuck all but postponed the targets year after year after year at these mega climate coventions where everyone the world over flies in to. And now shit is getting worse and worse year after year, who would've thought. Thank god Trump promised clean coal, that'll help for sure.

There's been a lot of effort in slowing climate change. We're now on track to avoid the worst scenarios, but much more work is still needed to avoid the "very bad" scenarios.

Both are a bit outdated. We just recently, as in 2025, discovered the climate models we've been using to predict climate change have been hilariously incorrect for decades.

tl;dr the Earth is warming faster than our models have predicted for the last 20 years, and those "worst case scenarios" of 20 years ago are the "best case scenarios" of today.

We are hitting warming targets decades earlier than we had predicted, and emissions are rising, not falling, thanks to regulations being thrown out at record speed.

I only ever wanted the best for my kids and because of that I never had any. There's not enough good anymore, it's just struggles and things getting shittier from what I can tell.

Except that there's a massive difference when humidity is taken under consideration. At a certain point sweating is no longer an option to cool the body. That and much of Europe lacks AC.

AC accounts for a significantly smaller percentage of CO2 than heating and many other energy sectors and activities. AC is also electricity-based and can therefore be much more easily decarbonized. That said, the refrigerants used in the systems remain problematic (for now).
