Neat. So it's basically the same recipe as rum balls except you substitute bourbon? Most recipes I saw for Bourbon balls also used pecans as the most common nut, but that's quite similar to walnuts. The irregularity I've seen is whether to use with or without butter, so I'm wondering. Also, rum balls are quite common where I'm from: romkugler. I love rum, but I'm interested in trying the new angle with Bourbon.
Pecans would certainly be very nice. I’m no baker & I dunno if there are more established rules or guidelines for constructing these. I’ve been pleased with the ones I’ve made (I’ve used a variety of spirits in them), but I don’t claim to be an authority. I’m sure there’s a myriad of other recipes that are just as good if not better.
