3 is faster paced, more like Bloodborne, whereas 1 is slower, more deliberate. The original and Bloodborne are both the best stories. 2/2

I, personally, was a strength build, using the biggest weapons with the most power. It really depends on your play style and patience, 1/3

If you're playing 2, definitely go with a strength build on the first playthrough. Big weapons deal out tons of damage and stuns the enemies

12 is my favorite 3D FF game. HD remake edition is coming out mid July, I'd wait for that one and try it, fixes a lot of the issues.
