Never double knot(unless reasons).
Instead: go around an EXTRA half turn.
You'll have what's referred to as a "surgeon's bow": a loop hitch getting is name from the surgeon's knot - actually used in some types of sutures*.
The extra loop creates more friction, reducing chance of untying, but the lace ends can still be pulled to untie the knot.
*A line-hitch , then reversed like a square knot.
