They undoubtedly thought it meant quick fixes to an ailing economy. Hitler was given nigh dictatorial power by Germany's choice - which sort a makes his acts legal, but he did run with it further than they meant, to illegal lengths. Half the time the election is spoken about being rigged, people vehemently deny it, but then later on in the day, a post like this will get to the front page. I've come to the conclusion that the people denying anything went wrong with this election, are ignorant at best, and agents of the enemy at worst. BUT that is not the same as evidence of actual cheating (which there are some court cases being pursued regarding votes not evident in announced results).
