As a parent it's so hard to teach stranger danger. Don't talk to strangers but it's ok to make conversation with random people. Also if you get lost it's ok to ask a stranger for help. Help people but never help someone if they say their puppy is lost.

I got lost at a marketplace, 2000 odd people, when I was 5. My own fault btw.
I ran around looking for parents then realized the best plan was to return to spot I realized I was alone because once my parents realized that I was missing it would be the first place the began searching from.
That worked.

I'm not sure if Mike Primavera is his real name, but the other day I got a response from a customer service representative named Mike Bologna, and I wrote "Mike Bologna has a first name it's O-S-C-A-R, Mike Bologna has a second name it's M-A-Y-E-R. Oh I love to heed him every day, if you ask me why I'll say, cause Mike Bologna has a way with S-E-R-V-I-C-E" before giving it a second thought and deleted it all. It still had me laughing all day

This is why Stranger Danger was such a fucking bad idea - it teaches kids to be terrified of unfamiliar people (and potentially getting into more trouble), instead of how to recognize when someone has bad intentions.

I went to the hockey game with my mom in the late 90s and we got separated as the game ended. She told a security guard she lost her son. The security guard didn't understand why she was laughing. I was 25. He wasn't amused when I came to collect her and take her home. :)

I teach anyone to have a healthy distrust in cops whether or not they have called them there to help them. Cops are disgusting in how much power they have, but more in how much more they convey. Cops don't care what they were called for and will almost as likely arrest the caller. FUCK. THE. POLICE.

It's a combination of federal reporting and the washington post's recent report on police charged with sexual abuse. You can calculate that cops are 5 times more likely overall and 20 times more likely than strangers to commit sexual assault against children. The actual numbers are probably a lot worse. No reliable information on clergy. I can tell you that Republican speakers of the house are way more likely to sexually abuse children than the general population based on statistics.

I got lost as a kid on a field trip when I was six. I was panicking but saw a police officer so worked up my courage and asked for his help because I was lost. He said, “Fuck off kid.” Luckily my teacher found me right after.

I was 6 or 7 my cousins ditched me playing hide and seek in a graveyard while the family was out watching fireworks. We were visiting relatives in San Francisco, so it wasn't my neighborhood. Whole fam walked home after the show and forgot me hiding in the graveyard. Lucky my uncle had a crime record, cops knew where to take me. This was late 80s.

Cops especially cops operating by themselves are always shit heads. 13 year old me was arrested by a classmates father who was upset that "atheist boy" was taking the "prettiest girl in school" to the dance(his son & her went to youth group) he arrested me for sexually battery. He decided to interrogate her alone after he heard she cried at school. He took 3 events that occurred separately by days & weeks; Me slapping her butt w. Consent, me throwing a DVD like a frisbee, & raising my voice.1/

While trying to convince her that she needs to stop fantasizing about marrying me. So basically what the cop did was interrogate her and pressure her to make another statement that stated in a single moment while arguing about marriage. I yelled at her. I threw a DVD at her in anger and then once again in anger slapped her ass to which she apparently had to flee from me, fearing for her life. 6 cops interrogated me without parents present or school staff despite specifically asking for my folks2

So they could contact a lawyer for specifically because I was asserting my rights to stfu(California at the time & other places likely still; had a requirement that if a minor asks for a lawyer, it doesn't count unless the kid specifically explains why they need to call someone & what their intended purpose is for them gaining counsel from someone. I've been bit, kicked, slapped, spit on, sneezed on, punched, pinched, scratched hard enough to break the skin, and had scissors thrown at me, and have had to hunt down runners multiple times a week this school year. It's the reality of working with both special needs kids and behavioral needs kids. If I have a day where no kids try to assault me, it's a good day.

God I was that kid just once and I stress about it constantly. Improperly medicated me was in a bad place and it played on my Autism, agoraphobia, and undiagnosed schizotypal related issues just all manifested at once and I freaked out. Never done it since, I'm normally in much better control

A vast majority of the time, negative behaviors are a symptom of larger situations or needs that need to get worked out and solved. Your past behaviors don't define who you are. It's the ways you've grown as a person that do. I hope that you have your needs met and that you've developed methods to help you self-regulate in a safe and healthy way and don't get hung up by the past. You past teachers won't view you negatively for it, but will instead be proud of your growth since then.
