I truly do not like to add to the comms cycle that gives any voice to a system that thrives in chaos, however I was truly repulsed by this today. However... rarely a living person is added to a coin, and this is slated for 2026, so maybe foreshadowing..... Still, this is obscene beyond words.

(In the story, the bank teller refused to accept the bill, as it was not issued by the Treasury and was not legal tender.)
Conceivably, could Trump decide to retroactively MAKE such bills legal tender? If the Treasury Secretary complied, Trump's loyal MAGAts would get free money, and it wouldn't cost Trump a dime.

I beg to differ. A commemorative coin can have whatever the maker wants on it. It gets minted and then sold to collectors or other interested parties. Obviously with a mug like that on the coin, the beauty is in the eyes of the holder. The coin will never end up in circulation.

The US Mint cannot mint coins without a face value. Even their commemorative coins have value, even though they're not intended for general circulation. The Trump coin draft shows $1, as required for coins honoring presidents. But per that same federal law, you cannot put the face of a living president on any federally minted coins.
