Ignore that 8 easy ways BS. They are all crap.

This is all you need. I had athlete's foot for 15 years, 8 of it in the army. 50% hot water, 50% vinegar. Any vinegar. It's acid. Acid kills fungus. Soak feet for one hour. Exfoliate before. That's all it takes. If you got bad athletes foot it will hurt. Suck it up.

If you've had athletes foot for 15 years, I'm not taking advice from you on how to cure athletes foot.

What about tough acting Tinactin?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Tolnaftate is shit for killing fungus. It's like trying to kill a human with a feather duster. Vinegar is using a big gun.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

you can piss on your feet in the shower. I had bad AF for about 2 years and read that somewhere, and it went away in a week.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Jokes on you, I've been pissing on my feet in the shower for years.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I expect fire would work too. Jebus. Try 1 part in 5 vinegar, should work just as well and be far less painful. Don't abuse your feet, kids.

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I put things with neat vinegar right in my mouth, so I would hope my feet would withstand a 1:1 dilution.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Try holding a mouthful for an hour. Your mouth and stomach have mucous membranes that constantly regenerate to repair the acid damage.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wait ... THATS WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH MY FEET?

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Get one of those handheld mirrors from the cosmetics section. I discovered I had a bald spot on the back of my head. Vinegar didn't cure it

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Suck it up? Do I drink it before or after the foot soak?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Again, this takes only one treatment, two if you dont exfoliate well. Do it once a month or so just to prevent. Also makes feet soft ?

Rip them off with pliers

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I had a doctor remove a couple toenails for this reason. It helped prevent the return of the fungus.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Be a man, use bleach

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This & throw away your current socks & shoes bc they’re infected. Buy new ones. Also Lysol spray all floors/carpets in your house.

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

Maybe soak your socks in vinegar to sterilize them before washing.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Except if you're diabetic, probably don't. Talk to your doc (or a pharmacist for free), not the Google or the Imgur.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or just get an antifungal? It's like $5 at the pharmacy

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I had athletes foot for a period in my life and then i learned that i am not allowed to wear the same shoes every day. two pairs of shoes.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If your at the beach for a few days...paddle in the sea water and dry sand two three times a day for a few days. Clear it right up.

6 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 2

If your what is at the beach?

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If your you're is at the beach

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is true. Salt water + abrasion from the sand is great.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Thanks, will try

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Once I had warts on my left foot. I tried so many ways to get rid of it, none of it worked. The easiest way was to soak some cotton in 1/

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Vinegar and put it on warts then wrap it properly over night, for four nights. The result was surprising, after a week a very soft skin

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As clean and soft as a babies bum.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I can backup this claim. You have to keep vinegar on it as often as possible. It will most likely hurt but worth it

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why not just replace your foot with a machine.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Tea tree oil works too, no mixing, no soaking.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

BURN IT WITH FIRE

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I love some distilled white vinegar! It’s ideal for food. And 5% acidity!

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Iodine! No soaking needed, just drizzle it on and it's gone after a few days.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

where the heck do you get iodine?

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

At an Io-diner.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You tried :0

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

once? no mention of regularity here

6 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

Many at home cures work, but are very slow (sometimes requiring 12-18 months of daily treatment)

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not this one. One treatment kills all surface fungus and the dead skin falls off

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I was referring to things like tea tree oil that people promote. Cool that this works so quickly. Hard to even get that even with Rx meds

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's because theres no profit in curing, only treating

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

“A patient cured is a customer lost.”

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It cures and prevents. I still do the soak once a month. Makes ya feet soft too

6 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

My go to is 25% listerine, 25% vinegar, 49% water, 1% bleach.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As someone who has suffered from sporadic athletes foot flareups, will this get rid of the smell? And does the vinegar smell go away after?

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

and smelly .. well, more than usual

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

did you clean the shoes too?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It prevents yet this OP has had athletes foot for 15yrs he says. Sup wit dat?

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

He obviously stopped being an athlete, duh!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Because for those 15 years I wasnt using vinegar. I was usin TOUGH ACTIN TINACTIN and bullshit like that. Had clean feet for 5 years now

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Thank you for the idea.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thanks, I have a bad case right now actually and was trying out lamisil

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Yea that crap only works after a year of religious treatment. Do the vinegar.

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Hm. It only takes about a week to go away using the creams if I use it twice a day.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Would apple cider vinegar work?

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

"Any vinegar. It's acid." Right there in the post.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It has sugar in it

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I once had an itchy foot, looked up the symptoms, and after ruling out athlete's foot because there wasn't reddened skin, I got "pregnancy".

6 years ago | Likes 113 Dislikes 1

Hey at least it's not cancer?

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Tbf brain tumor was also in the list.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You're lucky. WebMD would have diagnosed you with toenail cancer. You dodged a bullet.

6 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

To be totally honest, the list was: 1: athlete's foot (no this one isn't). 2: brain tumor (oh boy, here we go). 3: pregnant (OK this is new)

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Congratulations

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Must not have been WebMD. WebMD would have just skipped to "cancer"

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

(Also I'm a dude)

6 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 0

Were there any alternatives? Because that's basically what I have right now.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

In my case it seemed to be dry skin; it eventually stopped once I started hydrating more (drinking more water and using hydrating cream).

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Seriously; drinking more water has solved so many stupid issues I had because I wasn't used to stay hydrated.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Congratulations! When is the shower?

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

It's ok pregnancy cures itself everytime, the parasite gets out after a bit less than a year you just get rid of it and it's done

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

if it's a fungus then any anti-fungus would work too.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Yeah just get a 5$ cream and apply for 1-2 weeks (or how it is written) and it's gone.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

False. Tolnaftate (the active ingredient in OTC sprays) is only mildly effective on fungus over multiple months of treatment

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

i assume you dont have a few pair of shoes you swap daily and eat wheat and sugar.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Tea tree oil soap helps prevents and helps get rid of it.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

fyi, tea tree oil is toxic to pets

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ammonia works too. i.e. just piss on your feet

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 8

This is true.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ineffective

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 4

You have to save up your piss so you have enough to cover both your feet.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Drink heavily just before you go to sleep.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same for trench foot?

6 years ago | Likes 82 Dislikes 2

Dont go into trenches.

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

No wonder i dont get athlete's foot

I too grew up hearing that. Also the untrue jellyfish sting treatment. I think it was started by someone with a piss fetish.

You should know the uses of: Vinegar, alcohol, H2O2, iodine, witchazel, petroleum jelly and, menthol if you have any skin at all.

6 years ago | Likes 177 Dislikes 4

.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

but thats facebook mom stuff /s

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Petroleum jelly? Benzin & gelatin? Gas & Jello? Generous use of benzin on hands keeps mine looking fresh. Nothing can live in that stuff.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

OK, some of those, yes... but peroxide? Menthol? ... is there anything beyond sterilisation for the alcohol?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"If you have any skin at all" sounded like a legit Addams Family type advice

Got something to prevent to much sweating in combat boots ?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Clean socks pvt...

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

i always wear clean socks even change them twice per shift op 12h.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How often should I do this?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I‘m gonna try this for steel toe work boots. It’s a not-so-fresh hell in the summer months... which is all year round out here

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Just upgraded to red rock Chelsea safety boots and I am REBORN. Accidentally wore them home twice.

spICEy

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

is that why my grand ma ma always put vicks on my feet and black socks on?

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

It's a mild anti-inflammatory. https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/witch-hazel-benefits-uses

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I used on the dog when she developed hot spots from grass allergies

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Does it help w/ itching? My mom's dog has allergies & has to get a shot but when it starts to wear off he's miserable.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It can. I used it on a young cat with acne. It helped with the skin redness and puffiness until he grew out of it.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I’d apply it to the areas she thinned the fur out and it seemed to help. The fur would grow back

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If its athletes foot, ur feet will start to peel and itch worse than bedbugs. Start bringing dry socks to work, change when wet.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

But isn’t spreading to my wife or anywhere else on my body

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Absolutely dont do this

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Yea no I wouldn’t lol I know it’s a fungus and not a parasite or actual “worm” I’ve been using anti-fungal just ain’t helping
