I suspect the "wanna make money" is why that person isn't with someone who brings them peace. If your goal is wealth acquisition, you're going to be around and attract people who also have that goal, and they all seem fucking miserable to be around.

Perhaps "make money" IS meant as "making enough money for my family", since today this requires a significant income. Perhaps it's also meant as "stable income", because you JUST want to make money and not think about hustle culture, career ladder, how to get a raise to compensate for inflation etc. Getting a decent, stable income at a decent job is also a kind of appreciation; something that many people do not get to experience and wouldn't even know is possible and can actually be nice.
