I wish Mario would have worn one of those masks.

Do they have one for Luigi? This could get interesting...

Imagine he wore a fat man body suit and wore a Trump face mask. Then, mistake it as Trump actually doing it. What are the chances they would arrest Trump for it and NOT just say "welp. Just find another CEO"

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Trump boasted he could shoot someone dead in the middle of 5th avenue in New York & no one would do anything. Now True thanks to our SCOTUS

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have both a Shawn and a Gus from Psych mask

2 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Use their own predatory generative AI against them. Generate a Random White Guy face to print on the mask, use it for your best Luigi impression, toss it, rinse and repeat for a brand new never-before-seen face each time.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Make sure to not hang out at a nearby restaurant afterwards wearing the same clothes and with the murder weapon and a manifesto on you.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

if you have the funds, secure a palate of these now. that way if we ever have another Occupy-style mass protest, you can show up and distribute as many as you can, especially to people who look like they'd make good Luigis.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or…maybe they’ll start making Luigi versions of this

This combined with that he casually went to McDonald's makes me think he was hired to take him out AND take the fall.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Holy shit, that's very effective.

"Sit on your face"

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In the semi dark it seems it would be very effective.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If only Luigi had worn one of these.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

He didn't surf the web enough

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Except they’re on TikTok which was bad before but now it’s literally just US government spyware

2 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 2

it always was

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

No, it wasn’t. It was Chinese spyware. This is vastly different and far more dangerous.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

it is now not that it matters since meta and google already has all the same data. drumpf wants to buy tiktok... it also blew up in their faces when nearly everyone went to rednote anyway.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

untrue, they share with china too

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

a few of these and some of those extra finger rings and boom

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Surprised people haven't been making Luigi masks by now, to.....perform certain tasks.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They're the new pink pussy hat so everyone has plausible deniability for owning one

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I almost think Luigi wanted to get caught to be sort of a symbol. He knew people would rally behind him.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

At first I didn't think there was any way this would be convincing, but once he adjusted it and put his hood on, yea.

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

It wouldn't be convincing irl but it doesn't have to be. It's enough to conceal your face without standing out like a ski mask would. Anybody who looks you in the face isn't going to be convinced but anybody walking by isn't going to notice out of the corner of their eye that something's wrong and you won't stand out in any meaningful way on video. Keep your head down and be in and out quickly and it'd be super effective in keeping your identity hidden without drawing attention.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This would be a great way to stay safe and anonymous in public once the proud boys start roaming neighborhoods and taking the undesirables. Its just another white dude getting in his car? As you were, dude.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

the way it works is that the police/immigration stop you, ask a few questions, ask for your ID, then they noticed you haven't blinked the entire time,... are still not blinking... holy crap, that's creepy as s**t and get the hell outta there

2 years ago | Likes 204 Dislikes 3

Lol, this is purely for the cctv cameras, phone cameras, dashcams etc everywhere.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

The goal is to keep them away from you with the power of being white.

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

But your face would have the proper skin tone so that ICE wouldn't bother checking on you anyway.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I've outright yelled at border agents (harassing folks) and they didn't check my white ass. It fuckin tracks

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Stops that first interaction because you won't get profiled.

They're cops, soon as the fear sets in they start blasting. Example: acorns.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah...while that thing looks pretty convincing on a short recording, I doubt it's so realistic looking in person

2 years ago | Likes 50 Dislikes 1

Kinda figured it was more of a at a glance sort of thing

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah...but I wasn't commenting just on the video, but on a comment talking about an immigration official talking to someone in person.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well ya talking to a person directly it wouldn't work.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think that’s sort of the point? Like of course it wouldn’t stand up to any direct scrutiny, but most criminals seem to be tracked through security cameras and that sort of surveillance

2 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 1

Precisely.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I agree, but I was responding to someone talking about immigration talking to you in person

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Haha, Luigi, 4 days after the murder and having his face plastered on every screen nationwide, got caught in a fucking McDonald's with the murder weapon on him... It'd take a lot more than a mask to keep that dude from getting caught. I'd bet he wanted to get caught because I refuse to believe he's that stupid.

2 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 6

If he doesn't get caught, we don't get to have the trial; televised so we can have the national goddamn conversation. Thank you Luigi!

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And with his manifesto admitting to the crime and why he did it in the backpack, providing all the motive a prosecutor could ever want. He HAS to have gotten caught on purpose.

2 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

I wish he hadn't, because that would've provided a more conducive environment for encouragement to copycats.

2 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

I've been saying for months, Luigi was set up. The real shooter got away squeaky clean and they needed to "catch the guy" so no other poors/

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

/ would go thinking they could *also* get away with mercing a CEO scott-free. Luigi is just a scapegoat with similar socioeconomic beliefs.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've never bought off aliexpress. Are they reputable? Like, I'm not going to get a mask that fits my thumb or something

2 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

I've got a few things from there and had no problems. Temu too.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

Temu uses forced labor, so fuck them forever

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

It's like temu and wish, cheap Chinese sweatshop stuff

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I kinda figured but wasn't sure. I don't need one that bad.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Basically the quality you should expect is below dollar store levels

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You can get a lot of products that others slap their logo on and resell, e.g. they're fine. But you skip the quality testing when buying directly.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yeah. It’s a great way to waste money on cheap plastic shit. But on the bright side, you do get to fund child labor

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The bright side is how you can buy pretty much any electrical component ever made and fix your things instead of throwing them out.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It’s a marketplace of sellers so experience will vary. I’ve ordered there quite a bit and never been ripped off. Most issues are just related to shipping times so far. Look at the individual item to see buyer protections. “Choice” items usually have better protections but you have to look as the protections under Choice are not uniform across all items.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

'choice' ones usually also cost more than the free market versions of same products though, so take your pick. Aliexpress is a few different shops in a trenchcoat, the 'ebay' type side you mostly want to avoid.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Do they still have people selling shark fins? Shit's fucked up

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If people're buying shark fins on aliexpress, it's probably not even shark. (Or is otherwise very sus in one way or another)

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think it being sus goes without saying

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You can guarantee that within a few years most crime will be committed by people wearing these.

2 years ago | Likes 850 Dislikes 12

There was a bank robber who used a black man latex mask.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's happening right now, man. Most crime is committed by people who look like white dudes.

2 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 4

Buy 4 or 5 and use them to rebel against the incoming fascist regime

2 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 1

And I guarantee that before it becomes a thing, the government will make it illegal to even be caught having/making these.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Nope. We are not at a Police/Surveillance state quite yet, but 6-8 years we will be. Democracy is dead, Republicans will repeat in four years with Vance and then when we quit talking about it, and actually become physical rebels, will the need for a full time system that will shut down disguises like this.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I sincerely doubt the rich oligarchs will wear these and without those your statement will not be remotely true

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Do you recall just a few years back when governments were asking people all around the world to mask up? When everyone was doing it and concealing your face in public was normal? Lots of petty criminals still weren't wearing masks then. I can't imagine it'll be different here.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ha. True. Hey, unrelated, where do you suppose a person buys such a mask?

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Anyone with a modern Tshirt shop could print them

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Are you asking because you don't want Google/Amazon/other megacorp to have a record of you searching for one?

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't think billionaires need masks dude

2 years ago | Likes 83 Dislikes 1

Thompson could have used one

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

A lowly millionaire at best. Not even the head of that healthcare company. Lower management iirc

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A vest would be more useful in his situation. At least for Delay and Deny. Defend gets tricky at this range.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Do you consider protesting the regime to be a crime?

2 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

The regime will!!!

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It will be.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

you misunderstand the level of crime

your telling me management isn't 2 faced

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This misses out several other forms of theft. Legislative influence meaning certain sorts of wage theft are legal, the financial value of time theft. Rich people making their companies and themselves functionally untaxed. Influencing legislation to drive criminality for prison and insurance benefits.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It is a crime, just not often prosecuted.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

https://www.tcworkerscenter.org/2018/09/wage-theft-vs-other-forms-of-theft-in-the-u-s/

2 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

I've seen this claim a couple times and I've been curious about it for a while. Does anyone know where the wage theft data comes from? Who is collecting and recording the data? I'm sure businesses aren't reporting their own crimes, and if it was people reporting it to the cops, judging from that graph 75% of all cops job would be writing wage theft reports and investigating them. My gut still tells me that it's true I just wanna know the facts.

Yes CEOs will start wearing these to avoid Luigis

2 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 3

You know, if they were so scared of us that they'd have to hide their faces to avoid dying, I think we'd be on the right track.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yes. I forget 'legal' crime. I was referring to the kind the police are told to be interested in.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Where does civil forfeiture land?

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

It's extremely difficult to estimate because not all states provide complete data, but the one that I saw most recently was for $68.8 Billion between 2000 and 2019. My understanding is those dates are inclusive, so that'd be $3.44B per year. That'd place just below auto theft. The real amount is likely much higher, though, due to the missing data.

Why is it 4x that price in CAD??? I loathe people that fuck over Canadians like this.

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Capitalism says charge what the market will bear not a fair price with a reasonable profit.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You get free healthcare, we get cheaper consumer goods. Care to trade?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Because a common business model is to import on the cheap and jack up the price.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The USPS and China Post have a special agreement to undercharge on shipping on small consumer packages, you're paying the actual shipping price in Canada and all of the US is subsidizing people buying cheap Chinese shit here

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If that seems like a way to encourage the proliferation of scummy dropshipping operations and move even more manufacturing overseas at the expense of the American worker, that's because it is.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I hadn't heard about this. Trying to look it up, it looks like the rates may have been changed since 2018, possibly tripled. But, suspiciously, most sources I saw were right leaning.
