Canola wins at the expense of autos. Carney is going to take a horse whipping from Ontario voters (maybe) for supporting Saskatchewan farmers.
As a consumer, hell yeah I'm sick of expensive Big Three garbage, Stellantis trying to rip off taxpayers and a fascist owned car company.
It is exciting to see the possibility of a cheap reliable car appearing on the horizon.
Hopefully we will get some at home investment from the company.

The big 3 fought tooth and nail to put tarriffs on Honda and Toyotas coming in. They built factories here to offset that. They employ thousands and are excellent cars. Even Ford Motor Company said they cant beat the reliability of Chinese EVs.

What ever happened to that Covid vaccine we made together with China in Western Canada?

How did you figure that? A partial drip in tariffs for the remaining 2026? It's a loss loss. it's a nothing deal.

I admin I know about zero of Canadian politics.
Back the people who are willing to fight for everyone. Separatists in my experience dont understand how much they actually need the rest to survive. Not always but often enough.
Opening up NA to Chinese EV is not much of an upgrade from Stellantis, seeing how most of their stuff is sourced from even more problematic people.

Premier Smith is primarily using the crazies advocating for separation as a bargaining chip with Ottawa. She thinks if it worked for Quebec, it will work for Alberta, even though the circumstances are wildly different.
Most of the Western provinces are built on treaty land, so it's not even her decision to make, even if the crazies did get a referendum. The whole thing is smoke.
It's only 39k cars from China, which is around 1% of the market.

What's the company?
MrNobodyLivesHere
BYD they are sold in Mexico and Europe. Basically cheaper than Tesla and more reliable.
whoatherebigfella
They are all over Asia too. Quite popular here in the Philippines.

>cheap reliable car< a thing that doesn't exist. You'd be better off investing in a cheap reliable rail company, a thing that does exist, because railroads with overhead electrification have been a solved technology since *checks notes* the 19th fucking century
Eyeetsass
Cheap reliable cars exist everywhere, but North America. Here we get bullshit because American cars are trash. That’s why they lock quality out.
blaghart
Oh wait you're serious, let me laugh harder

It’s interesting how confident you are in fuckall you seem to know. We’re done.
