I originally thought/assumed this was more of a kids game. Until my brother introduced me to it. I preferred to play split screen co-op and actually hang out with people physically but some online mayhem never hurts, especially when there’s a pandemic brewing. This game got me through the lowest point(s) in my life in the last few years. #fortnite
Always been a Halo fan. Again, real big on multiplayer split screen or co-op split screen. I still would like to hang out physically with friends, talk, laugh, rather than play online but it seems game developers don’t think that’s the case. Halo infinite brings back some of what Halo was all about. Just can’t seem to get into the story as much as the first few. #halo
Got to mention a classic. I played this with a group of friends in high school and we called ourselves “the gang” and drank orange juice. Real rough bunch. /s Two of them were even Mormon. But we had a hell of a time with this game. #licensetokill
This is a classic. Well, not this but the original versions. Even pre-dating Microsoft my dad had some old stuff on an old machine. Not even sure it was on Windows. Maybe even an original sim on an Apple 2E he had built himself early in his career. But that piqued my interest in flying. Enjoyed these ever since but it can get a little slow, and we all know it’s a bad thing when airplanes get to slow, so I enjoy that they add missions. Credit to Microsoft for making Flight Simming what it is today. There are some good competitors but they just don’t seem to pull me like Microsoft did. #MSFS
RDR2 is my latest kick. I usually don’t like killing animals and all that but there are some games where you just have to overlook that (among other ludicrous violence). Trying to play this with my brother we’ve run into massive hacking about half the time. Totally ruins the experience. I wish rockstar would do better with their online experience. GTA can also be fun from time to time. I love open world concepts and, between these two games, Rockstar takes the cake on NPC programming and interactability. #rdr2
This is not only one of the better more involved games still around but it also set the standard for open world, exploration, and crafting/building. I have been searching for a more realistic version of this high ever since. Stay tuned… #minecraft
This was my attempt to find a game like Minecraft, specifically with building, but then the things you build are useful. This is a space exploration game. They allow you to explore the entire planet as well as space/solar systems and you can build anywhere with block physics. You can also build your own hover craft and space ships and then use them to explore/fight aliens. It needs some work to be a better game long-term. If this game and Rockstar’s NPC’s and mission motivation had a baby, you’d be pretty close to the perfect game.
I like the non-racing aspect of these game series better than the races themselves. The racing is fun but the open world and police chase portion makes it much more interesting. They have made a couple decent ones since this but I think this was the first that got my attention. I mostly play these kinds of games so I can do some co-op with my brother or other friends. We are not big into sports games but will play FIFA soccer from time to time.
I love the character dynamics, interaction with the world, and movement in this game. Again, I like the open world aspect and you have a customizable ship. It’s the only assassin’s creed game that keeps my attention and I have played in full to this day. They also do a pretty good job with NPC’s, which also makes it more interesting.
