Today was definitely soup day. Made some garlic soup (with an egg on top and all) and served it in a bread because I felt like it.
(Not gonna lie, I had that piece of stale bread around for a long time and wanted to use it for something, and I damn love the idea of serving food inside more food, and then eating the food and the food that contained it. Of course, the bread was too damn small so I had to eat it in multiple servings, but it was worth it.)

Similarly,I've had portuguese bread and garlic soup,in New Bedford,Ma.,which has a major portuguese influence. Its where I learned to just pour a big puddle of olive oil into my bowl of whatever soup I was having.

You had me at garlic! Got a recipe for the soup?

This is the closest I could find to the recipe I followed, except I used just water because I didn't have any stock around. (The ham is optional but recommended; you can also substitute it with bacon or skip it if it's not your thing.) https://www.bascofinefoods.com/spanish-recipes/sopa-de-ajo/

Also I used a ton more garlic than whatever the recipe says 😂 You measure that with your heart.

Thank you for this info, currently I have beer cheese soup, french onion and cauliflower kale under my belt. I look forward to trying this for sure!
