Spotted this after a seriously windy night (airplane strut)
Opened the wing to reveal a bunch of terrible repairs from previous owner.
Replaced all damaged components
Made new skins for the wings, cleco'd and riveted
Built a spray booth, prep and prep and wash and prep
Endura primer, paint followed.
Ready to go - 6 months later.
There isn't supposed to be snow in April

Bush pilots, am I right? Good looking plane +1
greentinroof
Yes, well wanna be bush pilots lol. Next plane I build is going to have a tail wheel and most likely be made from tube & fabric!!

Dat camber tho.... sexy.
greentinroof
It's about as aerodynamic as a square box, but it sure does some amazing things!

Good luck mate.
greentinroof
Thanks, I already put half an hour on it today. Flew excellent.
theelvesoflothlorien
That's great. I hope it all continues to work well

Good catch. I'm a baggage handler at a small airport and once found a fill bird's nest in one of the fairings along the wing of a dash 8
Piratealbumchecker
As they taxied in from flying over an hour and the ground crews at their starting location never noticed it. Told the pilot and we wheeled
Piratealbumchecker
A ladder to it and pulled it out. No shells or eggs left behind, just the nest. Probably the craziest thing I've found during a walk around
greentinroof
Yeah that's why they're important! Especially on a homebuilt because I'm the only one that ever looks at it.
