Hong Kong is fighting to NOT become like Chinese citizens. Tiananman Square is part of MAINLAND China. Chinese citizens as a whole are NOT the ones causing the Hong Kong problem. Hong Kong had/has MORE rights than mainland China.
For some reason people seem to start trashing all Chinese in posts about anti-HK Chinese when the mainlanders are the ones most oppressed by the government. It's a really stupid slope that people have slipped down in trying to hate the Chinese government. Here's some examples of racism or hate applied to all Chinese instead of specific groups I saw on such a post

When you let the state define your culture and wake up one day and find your culture is no longer part of the state.

Quite - should we judge all Americans by Trump’s actions; all Russians by Putin’s?

Experienced the opposite multiple times. Also experienced many misbehaving US and UK tourists ... cunts come in all shapes

Worked in a hotel once where most tourists are chinese. Most polite people I met in my life even though most didn't know English.

Unfortunately, I think most people with this mindset are in a community or environment that will belligerently keep them uninformed

I was one of those in my early years. I joined the Air Force and went to England and learned so much about the world. I was very ignorant.

Gonna say, since I left the names there, don't harass those people. They're probably not actually racist just making ignorant statements

But the comments would be easy enough to find if I removed the names anyway so
