They started opening low cost clinics at each chapter (including birth control). The families started keeping their new stability.
Offer low interest loans to build monsoon-proof houses? They did even better!

It's owned pretty much by previous loanees who were able to use the loan to become succesful, as well as a varying amount by the Bangladesh government. It's incredible, quite frankly - they do a ton of small loans, almost entirely to women, and also focus on helping them build up communities. 100% proof that capitalism is bad

They don’t require material collateral. Instead, every bank starts a loan w/ a group of five women, giving them basic business lessons and helping them create a small business plan.
Then one woman gets a set amount to start her business, and they all meet weekly for lessons & encoragment. Only when the first woman pays back her small loan, the next member of the group gets her loan and so on.
Only after the first group has all started & paid back their loan, can a man get a loan- IF he has 1/2

I’ve made money through property, didn’t inherit any. My advice is don’t worry about what others have and work within your own economy. For example dont aim for a property if you haven’t even got $1000 in savings. Work on that goal first or everything beyond that will be too overwhelming.

*Made 64k over the course of the 10 months, and does not take into account the cost of medical bills he now has to pay, and is lucky enough that he'll be able to afford to take a YEAR off to recover from the damage done to his body.

And disability in the USA would reject him. He would then have to hire a lawyer, wait two years ish for a possible yes, then still get barely any money especially if he hasn’t paid into social security much yet as a younger person. Then Medicare would only cover 80% of his healthcare costs so a lot of his disability income would go towards the other 20%. (I’m disabled in the USA, we are treated like garbage)

I never stayed at a FT job more than a few months. It’s been 13 years since I graduated and I never applied, though I should have many many years ago. The advice I’ve gotten from others - lawyer up!
