An old business associate sold these and the first time I got in his car to go somewhere I was horrified. He had an old melted lollipop and a spoon with melting peanut butter on his dashboard. Such a disgusting car. It wasn't until a couple days later I found out they were just plastic props. I went on a business call with him and he brought one in. When waiting at reception as soon as no one was looking he'd put on one the counter and say "Oh no!" The person would turn around and start 1-
trying to clean up the mess and he'd just pick the thing up and smile. It was the most bizarre way to establish rapport I've ever seen. From a bizarre guy. I wonder how he's doing. 2-2
Everything old really is new again. My Dad had one of these made of a can of Olympia beer laying sideways, as if knocked over...and a resin "spill" that looked like spilled beer, complete with "carbonated bubbles" and a bit of foam at the edges. Looked real enough at a distance.
And that was far too long ago for me to admit, but reel-to-reel hi-fi was a thing at the time.
Great prank for some, but I'm pretty sure if you've spent any time on tech you'll know it's fake immediately. That is not at all what liquid on a laptop looks like.
You can buy some epoxy resin, brown tint, a mug, and make your own. Even better if you can get a mug identical to one you or the intended victim regularly uses. Mix up tiny bit of resin with the tint, spill it on cling film covered surface and lay the mug on a resulting puddle of resin. Wait for it to set.

Next they'll reinvent fake vomit, fake money on a fishing pole, hand buzzers...

Oh hell to the fucking no! We do not taunt the god of spilled beverages on laptops!

Needs more 3d texture. Have it fit into the keys so if looks like a spill.

I was trying to figure out how someone spilled a cup of syrup on a laptop lol
andwings2go
Were you drinking shampoo? Spilled coffee on a keyboard looks nothing like that.
ByThePowerOfSCIENCE
Also, you can't make something as realistic as you're probably thinking - it'd have to look almost clear on the keys and darker between.
andwings2go
No, spill actual coffee on a real keyboard that isn’t connected to any PC. Good pranks aren’t Whoopi cushions and fake dog shit.

No-go on a laptop. Desktops however...
