Need to share! Good things are happening for me!

Long story short: The company I work for does great things. Through shifts in the organisation I got to a place where I really didn't want to be. But I did it because it helps the company and the customers.

My manager got to his spot in the same way I got where I am: through shifts in the company. He doesn't really know how to manage people well. I had telling him for a while I didn't liked what i do any more and tried to shift my job to things I like. To no avail. When I was on holiday, I get calls for a problem on a project and my manager didn't have time to support me. I make it work but my vacation time is ruined. When I got back I unloaded my anger (in a constructive way). He should have made the time to support me and didn't. He dodges the bullets but I'm still really mad at him.

We have an open talk and he shared he didn't know it was this bad. I was near crying practically every day. We decide that it can't go on like this and I should look for something else within the company or not. (I was already interviewing with other companies)

He talks to another manager. An amazing job, previously held by a colleague is open. The colleague is on long term sick leave and they just decided to open up the job because the can't wait any longer on his return. It's exactly what I'm looking for in an organization I know inside and out.

While going through the interview process, the colleague contacts the company saying he wants to come back from sick leave. At the start it will only be a few days a week but after a few months, the job will be his if he is ready again.

Nevertheless, I go through the process and got the job! I'm super stoked! I know it's temporary but it's experience. It's a step up. And who knows what comes out of it! I'm so happy!!!

Congratulations for having the patience and maturity to see it through. I've left plenty of jobs that pigeon-holed me. Still, it seems to
