Steamer isn't a centrist, he is far right.
Under him the labour party is considerably further right than the Tory party under Cameron. He is a human rights lawyer who has arrested literally thousands of peaceful protesters, he personally pressured private venues to cancel on Kneecap because he didn't like what they said, he has stripped rights from trans people and attacked immigrants over and over again.

Labour sold their soul when they ousted Corbyn claiming he was an anti-semite. And yes Starmer came to power and threw away all his promises the day after his election. Workers? There was real anti-semitism in the party that he allowed to fester, but there also was a real hard limit on concern for Palestinian lives once there might be any negative consequences for standing with countries like Spain and Ireland. The Mandelson affair at least gave us some insight into that, the Starmer regime was more ineffectual than uncaring.

Well Starmer said all the right words before the election then did a 180 the day he got elected. So... it's anyone's guess.

I'm not from the UK, but had the pleasure of living there for several years. I still try my best to follow the politics there. Not counting Brexit, the way Corbyn got essentially exiled and had his character assassinated was a bad time in my view. He wasn't perfect, of course, but an actual leftward turn would have been welcome.

At least Corbyn was left wing. After his ousting the Brits had the choice between right wing (Labour), very right wing (Tories) and extreme right wing (Farage). The Brits voted for Starmer hoping he would do some left wing things, he did not, so now people will be even more pissed and vote more extreme hoping SOMETHING will change. Same thing is happening in USA btw. Thats why Trump got elected. People are begging for something to change.

Starmer nationalised some of the rail. Soth west railways. He also started the british energy company and did a few things. But yeah ultimately a waste of space. Tax the fucking rich. If they dont do that then they can all fuck off.

Also there are strong signs the economy is recovering a bit under his leadership. And supporting Ukraine was also something he did well. But siding with Israel during a genocide just disqualifies him from everything. Using anti-terrorism laws to lock up anti-genocide protesters is just morally bankrupt.

Yes because they put being a member of Palestinian Action on the 'terrorism' spectrum. And once you're labeled a terrorist they can do pretty much anything they want. Trump did the same with 'antifa' btw. There is no definition of 'antifa' so that means the government can just claim you're "antifa" and then they can apply the anti-terrorism laws to any American. It will be used to put Americans into Guantanamo Bay. But nobody seems to care. Brits and Americans are pretty relaxed about the laws.
